How to unlock the Worthy of legends achievement in GreedFall - Definitive Guide

The way I got this was by getting my repuation with the Coin Guard to "Nice" and then in the chest in your residence you'll find the legendary weapon "Hammer of the Forgotten God".

When I received it I didn't actually know why I had been sent it, but a quick Google explains you get items whenever you raise your rep with a faction.

It should be noted - just in case - you have to actually have the item in your inventory/on your person. I got the reward item mentioned, but it was in my stash and the achievement didn't pop until I took it out.

The first legendary weapon you'll likely get comes from competing the "Man With The Silver Coin".

In New Serene follow the quest dealing with merchants being roughed up though to completion. You're rep with the Coin Guard will increase enough for them to reward you with a weapon in your chest.

Go home to claim it, once it's in your inventory the achievement should pop.

You can find legendary items in various areas throughout the game, these can be weapons or armour sets. You can find a full legendary armour set in the area of 'The Singing Waters', if you go to the location of the Wood Guardian, as shown in the image below, to the East of where the creature is, you can find a dead body with a key on it. Loot the key. Now head slightly North-West until you reach a river, then drop down the bank and you can find the chest that the key belongs to, open it and you will find a full set of legendary armour 'The Merchant Prince' set. You can unlock the chest with level 3 lockpicking, though it's unlikely you will have this when you first arrive in this area. If you choose not to go for this, you are very likely to find other legendary items at various points in the game. This set however is quite good and will serve you well in your Extreme difficulty playthrough.

For increasing the level of relations with factions, legendary items are often given (they are placed in the chest). To get the trophy you just need to move the item into the bag.
