How to unlock the A better world achievement in GreedFall - Definitive Guide

Hey, This will be a guide to unlock A Better World Achievement You can also get all endings in one play-through with certain saves made at points through the story, I will touch in this at the end.

Spoilers Ahead Be Warned

Make sure you get Level 3 Charisma and Intuition ASAP as these will also give you a diplomatic approach to have the best outcome towards faction reputation. There are scenarios that you cannot avoid combat for example Ciera and you will lose faction points so always SAVE so you have something you can fall back on if things go array.

To get all endings you first will need to have all five factions Natives, Nauts, Bridge Alliance, Theleme and Coin Guard as FRIENDLY, and you must make several important choices throughout. The best way to get all factions friendly is to be diplomatic when possible and in stealth missions don’t lose reputation by getting caught.

Completes Kurt's side quest’s Immediately

The importance choices are as follows:
- Follower Quests
All followers must have there quest completed and all followers must be ‘Friendly’ status.
- Egon’s Face
Do not complete this quest until you have completed ‘Together for Teer Fradee’ as the coin guard will help you even as ‘Nice’. There’s a lot to this quest, you need to cleanse its corruption, arrest Egon and have Sieglinde as the new commander. You must have Kurt as a companion and you cannot have him betray you in ‘Prince’s Secret’ & ‘Treason’.
- Saint and Wild
This side quest you need to complete where you find the origins of their God make sure you DON’T give the tablets to Virgil but you MUST give them to Eugenia and then you must convince the Mother Cardinal to reform their religion.
- The Experiments of Dr. Asii
This quest must be completed by capturing Dr Asili during the quest and winning the following case against him, this means when rescuing the captives you DO NOT kill him but you CAPTURE and then win the case against him following the next mission.
- A New High King
This main quest you need to pick Dunncas as the King, do not give Derdre the crown when she comes to battle you for it in the cave, select the last option to keep it for yourself.
- Kill Constantin
Self explanatory, do not side with him as this always gives you the bad ending.

You also need to complete all of the side quest available in the game! It is recommended you complete all quest when you see them as some quest can get blocked or automatically fail depending how far you have gone through the main quest!

Here’s the full list to cross reference with your log in the game.

You also need to complete all companions side quest too!

Now after you have completed all side quest I’ve shown and are on the main mission ‘A New High King’ make a MANUAL SAVE here! You will have to choose who to give the crown too, for our first ending make sure you select Dunncas.

Go now and finish the remaining MAIN missions (Remember do NOT complete Egon’s Face), be sure all factions are FRIENDLY status besides Coin Guard which should be ‘Nice’, and then unite all 5 factions in Together for Teer Fradee. As a note you will get two missions to defend Theleme and Bridge Alliance so if they was at nice before these missions they both should now be at friendly.

You do NOT need to finish Egon’s Face for the 5 factions to unite as the Coin Guard should join as Nice as long as Sieglinde is in command. Do NOT complete Egon’s Face until after finishing Together for Teer Fradee.

Now after finishing Together for Teer Fradee, Make another MANUAL SAVE here, Then go Finish Egon’s Face. Make sure all other Side missions are complete for the factions, then go and beat the game and KILL CONSTANTIN. This will give you A Better World ending and the corresponding achievement.

Click the spoiler-tag if you want to see how to achieve the other endings using the manual save we made

Yes you are correct, you ‘technically’ don’t need to do all of the side quest but some quest you will be forced to do could have a negative impact on another faction. If you naturally skip any non-faction side quest you could potentially not gain enough friendship points for one group.

I’d recommend to do any quest you come across because from my own experience at the time when I played the game, I was missing friendship points for one of my factions, Theleme it was, funnily enough they are meant to be the easiest to achieve a good relationship with, but I didn’t have them at friendly, and this was ultimately because I missed the mission ‘Logging Expedition’ and this quest became unavailable for me to complete as I couldn’t start it, so at the end of the game I ran around the entire map until I found a single quest that gave me friendship points towards Theleme, I can’t remember what exactly the mission was but it worked, I do remember it was just enough friendship points, this was also the last side mission I had available to me, so if this didn’t work and give me enough points to get them at friendly I’d have been sent many many hours back.

I need to ask because of the info dump. Was it a mistake for me to complete Egon's Face before the point in the story mentioned? I'm asking because I finished it thinking it wouldn't cause issues down the line. The quest I'm on currently is A New High King.

I’m sorry but I cannot say as I’ve not touched this game in 2 years and that’s when I wrote the solution. (I think I will delete the solution since I can’t help or answer questions on issues people have)

I will have to guess but I think for this certain achievement ‘A better world’ I don’t think it will matter that you already completed Egon’s Face. I think leaving them at ‘Nice’ is if you was going for all the other ending achievements in the same save file without having to play through the whole game again but honestly I’m not sure.

Just confirmed - you absolutely can complete Egon's Face before completing Together for Teer Fradee, despite what's mentioned in the guide. I'm not sure why Egon's Face is explicitly mentioned as something to do later. As far as I've been able to find, it's impossible for faction rep to go down because of it...

Okay so there is a lot of misinformation here. You had me freaking out after reading this and not getting the achievement. I thought I was going to have to reload a save way back or worse, restart fresh. You absolutely do not need to complete all side quests available in the game. Like the achievement says, you need to reconcile all factions. All that basically means is you need to complete all the side quests directly related to each faction and the companions as well. Basically when you finish the game you need all the 'stories' being told to end in a positive manner.

For instance, I did not finish anything past the "Logging Expedition" with Dunncas. However, I did reconcile my relationship with him later by helping him after failing those quests. So if you miss those quests it is possible you will need to go to him and help later. Specifically, you could still elect him high king later without helping him and it may give you a negative ending, voiding this achievement.

So what I was missing was the Nauts. I already had them to friendly and figured that I was fine so I did not complete the rest of their faction quests. They are in fact required and I figured this out by two ways. The first is when I asked Admiral Cabral for help and she reluctantly accepted. The second was that when they were mentioned in the end game, their outcome was not positive, this is what undoubtedly voided my achievement. Also it is worth noting that when I reloaded a save I did not need to ask the Admiral to join me again because I had already did that. I just finished out their side quests, completed the game again and that unlocked the achievement.

This was a big relief. Because any save that you reload to try and figure out what you may have done wrong could take you many many hours to resolve.

Seeing as how the "best solution" for this is a huge paragraph of all endings instead of just this one stupidly, I felt the need to go out and make this so you don't have to read that stupid paragraph.
Credit to CoreyST66 for this list.

1. For the side-quest, "The Origins of Theleme", you must convince the Mother Cardinal to reveal the truth about San Matheus. This can be accomplished by exposing Brother Virgil and completing the remaining objectives. I recommend bringing Petreus and making a backup save prior to turning final step of the quest in to the Mother Cardinal. Any conversation choice mistakes will cause the Mother Cardinal to keep the secret of San Matheus. Reload a previous save if necessary.

2. For the side-quest, "In the Name of Science", you must not kill Doctor Asili. Instead, gather enough evidence to convict him at trial and watch his execution.

3. You must complete all the companion quests for all the companions and their relationship status must be at Friendly (or Loving). This includes Kurt; he cannot be a part of the coup, so complete his quests as early as possible.

4. When choosing the High King, give the crown to Dunncas.

5. You must be at Friendly status with all 5 of the factions prior to recruiting their efforts to stop Constantine.

6. At the final stage, kill Constantine.

(Just saying if we wanted a solution for the other endings we'd go to their achievement pages)

you DO NOT need all 5 factions at friendly, Coin guard can be nice and still get this. you only need Nauts/Theleme/Bridge Alliance/Natives

i just got this... i did a run-through being as passive as possible and succeeding at every charisma and intuition check. If there was a fight after a conversation, i reloaded before it and changed my party to include whomever was associated with that group to avoid a fight if possible. i dont know if this all matters. I also elected Duncas as high king

The only difference between my last 2 playthroughs was

this leads me to believe the only things necessary to get this ending are the things spoken about in the ending, which are all associated to the different side quests. You may not need to get everyone to friendly as long as you finish all the side quests to the proper conclusions (proper as in best for everyone as a whole). This, at least for me, was achieved by bringing the people associated with the faction the quest was from, and always picking/succeeding the options for charisma and intuition. I dont know for sure if this is the concrete solution, but thats my conclusion about it from my experiences.

This is 1 of the 5 endings and to unlock this, as with all others, you will need to make certain choices throughout the game.

For this ending, you need to have all factions at 'Friendly' reputation, so use the details in the descriptions for "Carants", "Theleme's chosen", "Favoured with the Bridge Alliance" & "All for one, one for all!" for this. Note that the Congregation of Merchants reputation can't be improved and lowers to 'Suspicious' regardless of any choices made, so you don't need to raise this one. Then with all factions Friendly, persuade all factions to join you and unite during the main quest 'Together for Teer Fradee'.

You also need to choose Dunncas as the High King of the Natives during the quest 'A New High King'. Then finally at the end of the game, when given the choice by Constantin, DO NOT side with him.

The achievement will unlock during the credits.

Election mission - we give preference to Dancas and kill Konstantin. Relations with the factions should be friendly - I had friendship with everyone, sympathy with the coin guard, a trade alliance - enmity, and before the final battle, the five factions must unite.

It is necessary that all factions and partners be friendly (no sympathy) except for the trade alliance (plot enmity)
Completed all faction branches (pay attention to the Coin Guard and the Bridge Alliance, continuation of branches does not just start, you need to communicate with the same people who gave out the quests)
Completed all partner quests (Kurt needs to complete 2 quests before Betrayal)
Correct decisions in faction quests:
1. In the name of Science - we don’t kill Asil, we win the trial
2. History of Thelema - It is necessary to tell who the prophet Mateus was to the Primate
3. Coin Guard - Sieglinde should be the head of the guard, Kurt will choose her after the coup
4. We make Duncas king and kill Constantine at the end

In addition to friendship with all factions, you still need to complete their side effects correctly:
1. Thelema must tell the truth about their prophet;
2. Bridge Alliance, we must spare Asil (Afra’s teacher) and win the “trial”;
3. Coin Guard, complete the quest with Aegon and make Sieglinde the head of the guard.

And further:
1. Make Duncas king (I haven’t tried others);
2. Complete all quests of your party members;
3. Be a friend to everyone...and kill Konstantin

Personally, I did not complete the Bridge Alliance quest correctly and the achievement did not appear.

I executed Asil (Afra's teacher) and naturally won the trial before the execution, the achievement was lost. Everything else is as stated above. With all factions there is either Friendship or Sympathy.
