How to unlock the Feel Like They're Gonna Bleed achievement in Green Day Rock Band - Definitive Guide

Here's a list of the 20 shortest songs in the game. Times in parentheses are based on run times listed on iTunes.

1. Song of the Century (0:58)
2. Coming Clean (1:35)
3. Emenius Sleepus (1:44)
4. In The End (1:46)
5. Burnout (2:08)
6. She (2:14)
7. Geek Stink Breath (2:16)
8. Pulling Teeth (2:31)
9. Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) (2:35)
10. Sassafras Roots (2:38)
11. Having a Blast (2:45)
12. Minority (2:49)
13. Nice Guys Finish Last (2:49)
14. F.O.D. (2:50)
15. Hitchin' a Ride (2:52)
16. Chump (2:54)
17. American Idiot (2:54)
18. Murder City (2:54)
19. When I Come Around (2:58)
20. Basket Case (3:03)

If you're playing Guitar/Bass/Drums and can't play Song of the Century (or Good Riddance on Drums), next on the list are Horseshoes and Handgrenades (3:14) and Peacemaker (3:24). If you have the DLC, Christian's Inferno and Know Your Enemy are both shorter than Horseshoes and Handgrenades and Peacemaker (3:07 and 3:10 respectively).

So there's the quickest route. Keep in mind that you still have to be able to pass the songs, but you can do this on any difficulty, so that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

UPDATE: It has been confirmed that playing a setlist on Easy and letting it sit around does NOT work. The game still treats this as failing, even though no-fail is enabled.

UPDATE 2: According to the comments, playing on Easy automatically disables the achievement, even if you don't get into the red, so you may have to play the setlist on Medium or higher.

UPDATE 3: If you're playing this multiplayer and one person fails out, even if you save them, it still negates the achievement.

Can you have no fail turned on and just leave to get food?

usually no fail disables achievements. however, you can play on easy mode, which has no fail mode automatically, so you can go do something else while the setlist runs.

I don't know what the deal is with this I had 20 songs selected in quickplay on drums and had it on easy mode and didn't really play any of the notes, and I didn't get the achievement? I did this for the complete the career in 12 hours and I got the achievement for that no problem don't know what's up with this one.

Can confirm setting it on easy and walking away while it does it's thing will NOT unlock this. Maybe add that to the solution as it might save others some time.

Just to I add I think the reason why myself and Deaner1981 didn't get it is because the cheevo descriptions says without failing and playing on easy has no fail on

I think if the meter gets all the way to the bottom of the red, it treats it as a failure.

OP has been updated. Thanks for confirming this.

I'm glad it doesn't work. If you have no fail on,then you SHOULDN'T get the achievement. The achievements for this game are by far the easiest for any music game that I recall. God forbid you have to play 20 songs, oh wait.. You paid full price for a game and you bought it so that you could play songs....

I played 20 songs on easy drums, and passed all songs with 4 or 5 stars. (I'm not a good enough drummer to play that many songs on a higher leve, but I wanted to build up my drum career score.) I never reached into the red on the meter. I still didn't get the achievement. It seems that playing on easy, period, will not let you get the achievement, because of the built-in no-fail on easy.

I did the same things as DJP519 except with vocals, as I was trying to get my vocal harmonies score and 100 vocal overdrives up. Doing the 20 songs on Easy will not unlock the achievement. After taking a break, I redid the set list on medium guitar and got the achievement.

depending on how well you can hit rapid fire notes, skip hitchin' a ride. the solo in that song can be rough if your fingers are nimble.

OP please also note that if your playing this song with a buddy and you expect that if you do fail out and your buddy can save you it will still give you the achievement your wrong if you or your buddy bails out it still counts as a failing even though you can save each other and still continue the song and getting the meter on red is okay. as long as you dont fail out of the song this has been confirmed by me

can i do this on expert drums with no fail on?

I can confirm what BigmanAriel has commented with. I wasted a good hour of time playing on expert guitar and expert vocals not knowing if one failed it ruined the achievement. Guess I'm just gonna do it with only guitar because it was one fail out vocals on one song that got me

I thought I had added that already, but I guess I didn't. Either way, it's been added now.

I'm attempting this with a group of people which don't play on high difficulties, I was wondering if changing the difficulty/restarting negates the achievement???

I can now confirm that doing this on easy does NOT work, period. Unfortunately, I found this out the hard way. Sonufoabitch!!!!! Ah, well. It least I got my "Play the #$%@ out the Drums" achievement in the process. I'll just do this again on hard bass to complete that achievement. Grrr.

OP -- please update your solution to indicate that playing on easy will NOT work. Thanks!

I HIGHLY recommend doing this on bass and pick 20 songs you have not played on bass. That way you can work on this achievement and the one that requires 3 stars on all songs on bass.

To start a setlist go to quickplay and hold down the green fret and it will open up a set. Don't play on easy or you won't get the achievement since it automatically turns no-fail on. You can pause, this is not a bladder of steel type of thing.

Be careful though and don't pick a set you can't play. This game has some really fun and tough songs on bass, just don't bite off more than you can chew!

This is one of those great achvs that you can get multiple achvs while grinding out the 20 songs. As Spectrix solution points out, if you use Bass, you can also work your way towards
Green Day: Rock BandIn Good Health and Good TimeThe In Good Health and Good Time achievement in Green Day: Rock Band worth 43 pointsEarn at least 3 stars on all songs in Green Day: Rock Band as a bassist.

There are also other options to consider such as the 1million point career achvs. These will unlock naturally as you are playing through your 20 song setlist. I got mine on Drums
Green Day: Rock BandDirnt Dirnt Dirnt DirntThe Dirnt Dirnt Dirnt Dirnt achievement in Green Day: Rock Band worth 36 pointsEarn a Bass Career score of 1,000,000.

Green Day: Rock BandStrong Arm, Billie JoeThe Strong Arm, Billie Joe achievement in Green Day: Rock Band worth 26 pointsEarn a Guitar Career score of 1,000,000.

Green Day: Rock BandI Play the !@#% Out the DrumsThe I Play the !@#% Out the Drums achievement in Green Day: Rock Band worth 43 pointsEarn a Drum Career score of 1,000,000.

Green Day: Rock BandSweet ChildrenThe Sweet Children achievement in Green Day: Rock Band worth 51 pointsEarn a Vocal Harmony Career score of 1,000,000.

If you choose to go the vocal career, you should also get
Green Day: Rock BandScream at Me Until My Ears BleedThe Scream at Me Until My Ears Bleed achievement in Green Day: Rock Band worth 46 pointsUse Overdrive 100 times as a vocalist.

***Confirmed-You can also get this achv***
I haven't confirmed this yet but it may also be possible to get
Green Day: Rock BandThe World AroundThe The World Around achievement in Green Day: Rock Band worth 16 pointsPlay a Setlist made up of songs in every venue.

As I am not sure if you specifically need a 6 song setlist of a song from each album or whether it will work in longer setlists. I am going to confirm "The World Around" achv and update the results. Just make sure you have at least 1 song from each of the 6 albums.
***Confirmed-You can also get this achv***

*Just remember as it has already been pointed out, you have to play on Medium or higher difficulty to pop the achv*

Hope this helps.

I just did a 20 song set for vocal and "Sweet Children" says 0/1,000,000 on the achievements page. It has to be a CAREER score, playing a randomly created setlist outside of career does not make progress towards this.

The world around achievement is not one song from 6 sets.
It's one song from Dookie, Milton Keynes and 21st Century so 3 songs in total.

Go to Quickplay and put together a Setlist of 20 songs. Once you complete all of them without failing you will get this trophy. You must play on Medium difficulty or higher, or the trophy will not unlock. Playing the first 20 would be best because they are the easiest.

This has to be done in Quickplay because you cannot make a setlist in Career. This has to be done on Medium difficulty or higher. Do not attempt to select easy and allow the game to play itself, and do not restart any songs. You will waste an hour of your time and you will not get the achievement. The shortest songs are (in order):
  1. Song of the Century [Vocals only]
  2. Coming Clean
  3. Emenius Sleepus
  4. In The End
  5. Burnout
  6. She
  7. Geek Stink Breath
  8. Pulling Teeth
  9. Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) [No Drums]
  10. Sassafras Roots
  11. Having a Blast
  12. Minority
  13. Nice Guys Finish Last
  14. F.O.D.
  15. Hitchin' a Ride
  16. Chump
  17. Murder City
  18. American Idiot
  19. When I Come Around
  20. Basket Case
  21. Christian's Inferno [DLC]
  22. Know Your Enemy [DLC]
  23. Horseshoes and Handgrenades
  24. Peacemaker
I took the list out to 24 for drummers without DLC. I would recommend doing this on your way to “You Had the Time of Your Life” and “In Good Health and Good Time”. Also, you can get “The World Around” if you select at least one song from each venue, which if you follow the list above, you will.
