How to unlock the I Got a Rock 'n Roll Girlfriend achievement in Green Day Rock Band - Definitive Guide
There are 3 songs you must get Gold stars on for this achievement:
* She
* Extraordinary Girl
* Last Night on Earth
To get Gold stars you *MUST* be on Expert difficulty. Gold stars are achieved by getting a fairly high score, well past the score needed for a 5-star rating. Just try to not break your combo streak and make efficient use of Overdrive and you should get Gold stars.
"She" is probably the hardest song here to get Gold stars on, but that's not saying much. On Guitar this achievement is a cakewalk. I'd recommend doing Guitar for this one too, so you can get the "Blue" achievement as well (95 note streak on "Last Night on Earth" on guitar).
You can do these on any combination of instruments. So, if you gold star "She" on guitar and then "Extraordinary Girl" on drums, it still counts towards the achievement. Band play is also recommended too; it tends to be easier to get Gold stars in band play, but just remember that EVERYONE needs to be on Expert. You can do these in Career or Quickplay.

Well if like me you're ok at expert guitar but no where near good enough to gold star them I've found a fairly easy way of doing this by singing
The more mics and singers you have the better. 3 will be best obviously. 1 singer per mic. I did it with me and my girlfriend and we both suck at singing but you don't need to be good ,just knowing the tunes helps a lot
Basically you put the songs on solo play, not harmonies and everyone sings the song. For scoring purposes the game will pick up whoever is on pitch at any given time.
(For those who are interested all vocalists get their own pointer and are tracked individually, but all singers performances overlap each other and fill the 'pie' meaning if you missed a bit but someone else got it, it counts, everyone needs to miss the same bit for it not to count)
I personally just hummed the tunes while my girlfriend sang them. I caught bit of lines she missed and she got bits of lines i missed making it easy to 100% and gold star these songs
If you only have 1 mic or don't like singing then just try the humming through the mic, it's amazing how much better you do by humming, especially on long sustained notes
any questions feel free to ask

This is for Vocals ONLY, I did all these songs on vocals these are the scores you MUST reach to gold start the song. The only one i'm not exactly sure on is She I got 82,200 with no gold played the song over and went from 82K to 85K on the last line.
Basically all you need to do is know the songs well Last Night On Earth should be super easy and Extraordinarily Girl is pretty easy as well. The only one you'll have a hard time vocally at least is She I had to sing it 10 times got 100% everytime and didn't get the right score. So just try you figure out where and when to use overdrive and you should be good to go.
Last Night On Earth : 122,000
Extraordinary Girl : 132,000
She : 82,200 - 85,000

This was a fairly easy achievement to get. What I did was do She on expert bass and got 99% with good SP. YOU DO NOT NEED TO FC THIS TO GET GOLD STARS. I got 122,818, 99%, and a 530 NS while missing a note or 2 on bass. The other 2 songs are cake on guitar. I FC'd them and got 95,530 on Extraordinary Girl on my 2nd or 3rd time through and then sightread FC'd Last Night on Earth and got 66,159. A tip for those of you not getting GS and FC'ing LNoE, use the first SP when the speed first picks up a little and then again (it should almost be full if you've been whammying) once the double and triple chords come in. This gets a major amount of points. These scores got me gold stars. The cut offs for these are 122k for She on bass, 59,800 for Last Night on Earth on guitar, and 81k for Extraordinary Girl on guitar.
Edit: I write the name of the song for every video so you don't need to watch it to know what is it
I can get 5 or gold stars every Green Day song on Vocals, so I record myself singing these songs.
You can use it as a guide, try to sync it or use it as the main harmony. I hope this can help you

Last Night on Earth
I just got this achievement last night. I got the stars doing solo vocals. Pretty much all has been said, but I do have a couple pointers:
-"Last night on earth": It's fairly easy, only you need good lungs since there are a couple of very long notes (If you have to take a breath, breath quickly). And you may want to try it on harmonies, it has ONE phrase with double harmony, it's pretty easy to get both harmonies on this same phrase, if you master that you get a small score boost and the "Step Up to the Mike & Billie Joe" achievement.
-"Extraordinary Girl" was the easiest for me, it just took me like two attempts to gold star it, didn't have to plan ahead nor follow any strategy.
-"She" was the toughest. I had to analyze the song. I found it has exactly 5 overdrive phrases, and after the fifth, there is just not enough space to have it triggered to our advantage without risking to break the nice full combo. But hey, there is a long break between the 2nd and the 3 chorus, I estimate it's about 8 bars. After the break, the 5th overdrive is on t he 2nd phrase. What worked for me was to get the first four overdrive phrases (I had to be VERY careful not to trigger them prematurely) and be careful to use it on the last second before the 3rd chorus starts. This way, overdrive will last the 2 first phrases and will concatenate with the 5th phrase!!!!! making sure we get the few missing points for the gold stars.

Okay, to get this achievement, you must goldstar She, Extraordinary Girl, and Last Night On Earth.
This is how I got it:
For Last Night on Earth, use bass. You will have to use a good OD path, so try and release OD during the fast parts. Make sure on OD phrases that contain sustain notes to use the whammy bar during them to gain extra OD.
For Extraordinary Girl, I got this while playing online co-op with someone. They were on guitar and I was on bass. Guitar and Bass are easy, but if it's too fast for you, try Vocals.
For She, I used vocals. The song is VERY EASY on vocals if you listen to the song a lot. It maintains the same pitch throughout the whole song when it comes to the verses and chorus. You might want to practice the "Scream at me until my ears bleed" phrase though as it might give you trouble. Why? You have to FC this song on vocals, AND use a good overdrive path. Release the first OD path during the second verse, and the second one JUST BEFORE "Scream at me until my ears bleed" on the third chorus.
Good Luck!

This isn't as bad you may think.
"The Last Night On Earth" Should be played on drums as it is very simple, the gold star cut off for this song on drums is about 62,500
"She" Should be sung as it is easier than the other instruments, the gold star cut off for singing for this song is about 83,750
"Extraordinary Girl" Should be played on bass/guitar, the gold star cut off for this song for bass is about 103,200, and for guitar it's about 79,500
You need to earn Gold stars on the three listed songs, "She", “Extraordinary Girl”, and “Last Night On Earth”, in order to earn this achievement. Gold stars are only achievable on Expert difficulty. Earning Gold stars on a song means that you must score very high, well beyond five stars. Try to keep a multiplier as much as possible and deploy Overdrive in sections with a lot of notes. These do not all need to be on the same instrument. Here are the minimum scores needed to earn Gold stars on these songs:
She
Guitar: 126,000
Bass: 123,000
Drums: 126,000
Vocals: ~83,750
Extraordinary Girl

Drums: ~130,000
Vocals: 127,500

As mentioned before there are 5 times you can catch OD time.
For "She" I found it the best to release the first OD after you reached three quarter of the pitch and the next after half of the pitch.
If you don't mess up in singing it should bring your well deserved gold star!
