How to unlock the It's Fun Until Someone Gets Hurt achievement in Green Day Rock Band - Definitive Guide
Hammer-ons and pull-offs are the slightly smaller notes that you can "hammer on" or "pull off" to after strumming the normal note. If you're new to Rock Band these can be a little tricky at first, but mastering them is key to stepping up to Hard and Expert difficulty. There is a full section on these in the Tutorials section.
"Longview" isn't a particularly difficult song on Bass, and the hammer-ons are fairly straightforward. To get this achievement you must play every hammer-on and pull-off correctly, without strumming them.
The chorus switches the rhythm up a bit so try not to get thrown off, and the bass riff that follows each chorus throws a different pattern of HO/PO notes at you, so be ready for that.
Also note that there are HO/PO chords on the Expert chart for this song, and hitting those counts towards this achievement.
A 100% rating is not required for this achievement. You just have to play every hammer-on without strumming it. If you break your streak, don't freak out. Just don't strum any of the hammer on notes and the achievement will pop at the results screen after the song ends.
This can be done in Career or Quickplay.

Uh reading through i got confussed, can you miss any HO/POs? As at the end you say "You just have to play every hammer-on without strumming it. If you break your streak, don't freak out. Just don't strum any of the hammer on notes" Im just getting a little confussed.

Basically when you are playing, little notes will come up after a few big ones. You can only hit the correct fret without strumming. This isn't as hard as you may think, as long as you only play on hard there will only be one little fret to hit after a big one.
These are what they look like:
To get this achievement you need to hit every hammer-on and pull-off in “Longview” without strumming on Hard or Expert Bass. Hammer-ons and Pull-offs are the notes on Bass and Guitar that look smaller than regular notes. You hit them by strumming the note before them then tapping the hammer-on or pull-off. For more information on hammer-ons and pull-offs go to “Training” > “Tutorials” > “Advanced Guitar”. If you are having trouble, turn on “No-Fail” and ignore the sections without hammer-ons.
