How to unlock the On My Own... Here We Go achievement in Green Day Rock Band - Definitive Guide
My Score -Next Lyrics
94,600 - Well nobody cares.....
177,800 - I feel asleep, watching Spike T.V.
267,400 - Here they coming marching down the street
325,000 - Home (*the first time it is said *)
415,244 - Final
I did this run through and got 100% but didn't get my overdrive right.
Best places to deploy are during the 'No body cares' part
When Trey sings, after the 'another ex wife' line as it links in with 2 more overdrive phrases and scores well.
During the 'Home' final section WAIT till you sing a 'home' which is longer and more wavey than the other 'home' phrases as this is the FINAL overdrive phrase in the song. Don't worry when waiting for it as there is enough song left to use it all up.
Comments welcome
If you have about 320-330k by the time you get to the HOoooommmmmmeeeeeeee were coming home bit you'll do it aslong as you dont mess up the end
+1 on the solution though.

First off, you DO need to do this on Expert for Guitar.
(I haven't tried any other instrument.)
If you're like me, and are tired of playing Jesus of Suburbia or Homecoming over and over again, but missing by about 20-30k I have the solution.
Play the American Idiot album CHALLENGE. For either Jesus of Suburbia or Homecoming, save your star power from the song before it, and try to finish the previous song with a 4x multiplyer. It will give you a good head start, possibly giving you the edge you need to cross the 400k mark. You won't be able to just look at your score as easily because your score does carry over from the song(s) you've already played, but you still need to get 400,000 on ONE song.
If you manage to get 400,000 points, the achievement should pop up on the loading screen for the next song.
Lastly, if you get the achievement, you will NOT have to actually complete the rest of the challenge.
Personally, I did this by accident, I wasn't trying it this way to see if it worked, but it does! So, good luck and happy hunting.
the more mics and singers you have the better,3 will be best obviously,1 singer per mic,i did it with me and my girlfriend,we both suck at singing but you don't need to be good, just knowing the tune helps a lot
basically you put the song on solo play, not harmonies and everyone sings the song, the game will pick up whoever is on pitch at any given time,i personally just hummed the tunes while my girlfriend sang them,i caught bit of lines she missed and she got bits of lines i missed making it easy to 100% though 100% is not necessary to score 400,000,on expert i've scored 532,000 so plenty room for mistake
if you only have 1 mic then just try the humming through the mic,it's amazing how much better you do by humming, especially on long sustained notes
any questions feel free to ask
-Vocals is the easiest instrument to play in rock band everyone has a voice and with some practice and maybe a few runthroughs you should have no problem going through.
-I would also recommend going through on solo play even with a 96% out of the 115 phrases you can easily score over 450k. Solo also takes out the colored harmonies bars which can get a little confusing.
-Going through the song on harmonies will net you more points but you need to remember that even if its not one of Billie Joe's parts you still need to sing that part if you are by yourself for example the I've got a Rock and Roll Girlfriend Tre sings this part and its the orange harmony bar, but as the lead you must still sing this. Also remember that the more people you have singing the easier it is to keep your combo, and the more points you will get.
-For overdrive as a path I can't remember my exact path as the song is 9 minutes long but I'd recommend mixing it up if you're familiar with the song watch out for the long breaks in phrasing. If not try to keep an eye out for shorter phrases. The shorter the phrases the more phrases you'll complete, and the more points you'll net. Lastly I would try to use overdrive 3 at a time as opposed to 2 since the song has a fast four four meter your overdrive bar will drain quickly
-Any questions feel free to message me.
Good Luck hope this helps!!
-Below is a video if you want a sample path to follow the video isn't mine.
-Notice the video is on rock band 2 the maker ported the setlist the path should still be the same.

Use Overdrive wisely -- wait for lots of chords. There's plenty of places to use it. I didn't path or check for paths -- I got it easily enough just with Rock Band experience. You can do it!
Guitar:
'Homecoming' - current top score is 450k
'Jesus of Suburbia' - current top score is 479k
Vocal:
'Homecoming' - current top score is 546k
'Jesus of Suburbia' - current top score is 523k
This one isn't that bad, and is probably best done with vocals, Choose either Homecoming or Jesus of Suburbia because these are the longest songs, it may take a bit of practise but once you can hit the notes you should be fine. If you aren't a very good singer, there is actually a way to kinda cheat this. If you have more than one mic get a friend (or two if you have two mics) and connect them both and play homecoming in solo mode (Not in harmonies) If you both sing both of the mics will fill up the multiplyer and make it much easier to keep the mulitplyer up
