How to unlock the Past the Point of Delirium achievement in Green Day: Rock Band - Definitive Guide

I just nailed this achievement first time, and using quite a different method to the description above.

Firstly notice how this achievement is hit 100% and not full combo.
If you are struggling to hit 100% whilst strumming in time with the rhythm - simply overstrum (Yes, I just said overstrum) the more dificult part; (YO, Y, YB, R, RY).

You are much more likely to hit these effectively, just try not to overstrum too much as you may make your meter go into red. (EDIT: You can unlock this achievement with no-fail cheat on!)
Also I cannot emphasize enough that putting this song into practice mode and putting the speed down to 70% will help you emmensely in recognising the combo.

All else that I can say is that this is a very sloppy method, but if you are really struggling with the above then some people may find this much easier. (A good description would be a soldier machine gunning instead of sniping - sniping is for the perfectionists and machine gunning is for the people who just want to get the job done.) - just to re-iterate, this is for people who want to get the job done. wink

GOOD LUCK! smile

I am struggling with this, keep getting about 97-98%.

Skadi, remember to have 'no-fail' switched on and just strum as fast as possible- then all you have to worry about is being on the right coloured notes.

Just got it thanks to this guide. I had no fail on and just waited for the solo. I was getting 98-99% every run, after about 10 tries I hit 100%. So if you're as close as I was, keep going and you should end up getting it soon.

This achievement is frustrating, even with your guide! I always get 99%, missing one Yellow+Orange chord in the second half of the solo, right at the 53% part. Gets me everytime, but your guide is working for the rest of it, thumbs up!

I'm afraid there's not really any other ways I can help- it's just a case of trial and improvement

When I was doing this achievement, I was constantly hitting 96-99% on the solo using Super Speed, if you are constantly messing up somewhere just take a break and come back to it another day.
I came back another time and got 100% first time.

Took me 15 minutes of practising the Guitar Solo A on 80% and then nailed it when it came to the real deal, over-strumming makes it so much easier, just listen for the shift of notes in the song and you won't need to worry about the speed you're going.

Got it on my second try. No fail mode, only overstrumming in the middle section with the weird transitions, and not playing until the solo starts. Right before, I would hum the speed of the rhythm to get my brain in the right place.

This one is actually quite simple, but here's a tip. The tricky part at the beginning of solo A is strummed at the same pace as the whole solo. It may look a bit confusing, but just keep a steady strum and move your fingers quickly to hit that part where it goes R YO. YO. YO Y. YB. R. RY. RY. RY etc. Also slowing it down in practice will help and don't worry about over strumming. If you break streak, keep going to make sure you did't just overstrum as you'll still get the 100%. Good luck and congrats to Lonsta da Monsta for beating me to 1st winner on TA!

what i did for this was went into practice and practiced the entire solo, then i put on no fail and DID NOT play the song until the solo, because what was happening to me was the slowness of the song was throwing off my speed in the solo causing me to get 97-99%. the first time i did it this way, i got it!

This achievement can be really annoying and it is hard. You have to 100% the solo of "Hitchin' A Ride". What I did, was take it to practice and kept practicing the Solo until I could constantly hit it. If Super Speed helps, you can turn that on so you can have it during the actual song.

The part of the solo where you have to let go of the chord is the hardest part about it. Good thing though, is that you can over strum, so strum really quickly if you want, as long as you just don't miss the notes, you will be fine. All I can say is, practice makes perfect!

You need to hit 100% of the notes in the solo of the song “Hitchin’ a Ride” on Expert Guitar in Career or Quickplay, not practice. However, I would recommend trying the solo in practice before attempting to get 100% on it in Career or Quickplay. This solo can be pretty tough because it is pretty fast and it has some awkward chord changes. Some people recommend strumming as fast as you can (with “No-Fail” enabled) to make sure you don’t miss a note, but it might make it harder to stay with the rhythm; try whatever works best for you. With some practice, the achievement shouldn’t be too much trouble.

You only need to hit 100 percent of the notes, you do not need to full combo the solo.

This is quite a hard trophy to get as the notes are very quick to change and require alot of precision to get, it would probably best to go to practise mode and play the solo a few times until you have mastered it. You don't need to to get a full combo during the solo so you can strum as fast as you won't to make sure you hit all the notes

Solo starts at 1.50

Solo was disappointing - I expected it to be more difficult.

If you play expert well, you will most likely win the trophy on the first try. If not, well, go to practice mode and play. The main thing is to catch the speed at which you need to pull the string.
