How to unlock the Won't Make It for Dinner achievement in Green Day: Rock Band - Definitive Guide

You can actually get this by yourself without having four people! Simply start a new career, hook up all of your instruments, and put them all on the easy difficulty. It turns out that you can't fail if you're on easy. Therefore you can just let all four instruments sit untouched if you want, and just keep going through your career until it is finished. (It takes about 4 hours to make it through it.) Just make sure you finish the career within 12 hours after you start it :)

Also, you don't have to do any of the challenges for this to unlock. Just the 10 sets in the career.

* This also works over Xbox Live with four people *

Just the sets in the career -- I'll update my solution to let people know.

You also don't need to play the previously released DLC from 21st Century Breakdown if you've downloaded/imported it.

Be also interested to know if it's possible over live, not that I am against your solution just be more fun if I could do with friends, however I would be more interested to know if done over live with the same players throughout would everyone get the achievement if not ill do the solo method you outlined.

has anyone had any trouble with this unlocking? I followed all the steps listed above and it didn't pop. I did, however, pause during each movie that plays at the end and "skip" them. Does anyone remember the exact moment at which the achievement popped?

Wonderful guide! Worked perfectly (as I was feeding my daughter at 4am this morning). It took just over 3.5 hours!

I did this on Vocal Harmonies and got it, in case that is a concern to anyone. I sang most of the songs an got the 100 overdrive deployments achievement. However, at least on the achievements stats screen, I didn't get credit for the scores I posted (possibly because most were less than 3 stars because none of the other instruments were playing).

@LeerFool:
The scores are for single-player gameplay. They didn't count towards the 1,000,000 points achievement because the other players in there. You have to sing Vocal Harmonies without any other instruments playing.

That's strange -- the only real stipulations are having 4 instruments and doing it under 12 hours. Perhaps try signing in profiles to all of the instruments?

For anyone wondering about this, you CAN have someone disconnect while playing on XBL and still get the achievement. I had one person disconnect twice, but we quit and got her right back into the band, and everything was fine in the end

I was hoping I could set it up like this, and sure enough it worked. You should update your solution to include that it's about 4 hours if you play straight through. So there's PLENTY of time if you start up in the morning and take breaks for lunch and bathroom.

It's definately no Bladder of Steel.

Local with 4 unplayed instruments on Easy also treats you to an interesting and (mostly) a cappella version of the game. Turn on Performance Mode (via Options, Game Settings) before you start to watch the band's antics without highways.

It took about 3.5 hours to complete, pressing A as soon as a song ended, selecting the next one, and pressing A on each instrument to quickly continue. If you start at the top and work your way down, the achievement pops on 21st Century Breakdown's stats screen.

Same as with online play, all profiles signed into an instrument get it, not just the career owner.

For this trophy you will need to complete all the venues in 12 hours, but in a 4 player band. This may be hard for most people as the Rock Band kit only provides 3 instruments. If you do have all three instruments but no one else to play it with, you can still do this by yourself, plug all the instruments in and set no fail on. Make sure you get at least one star for each song.

You can find a partner in the boosting thread here:
https://www.playstationtrophies.org/forum/green-day-rock-band/52962-trophy-boosting-thread.html

It doesn't matter how many stars you get. All you need to do is complete the game with your four player band.

To earn this achievement you will need to beat the entire 44 song Career in less than twelve hours. You can do this achievement online, but I would strongly recommend doing it locally to avoid quitters, connection problems, etc. It takes roughly three and a half hours to complete every song, so there is plenty of room for breaks. Be sure that you have a 4-player band from start to finish just to be sure. Also, be sure that you end with a song that is charted for every instrument so that everyone gets the achievement. If you play the entire Career in order, you will finish on “21st Century Breakdown”, which does have a chart for every instrument.

This can be done solo if you have all of the instruments. Put every instrument on easy, which auto-enables the “No-Fail” option, and let the career play itself. You still have to select each song; so don’t go too far away. Be sure that the final song is charted for whichever instrument your account is signed in to.

The catch is that you need to complete the career in 12 hours in a group of four people. If you and your friends are not complete nerds, then you won’t sit at a game for 4 hours straight (and a career takes about that long). But if you have all the tools, there is a way to get the trophy. Connect all the instruments, start a new career, choose the instrument that you like best, set the difficulty that is convenient for you. For the remaining three instruments, select the Easy difficulty, so you don’t have to play them at all, and you won’t lose the song. Personally, I chose the vocals to get Scream At Me Until My Ears Bleed along the way.
