How to unlock the Drifting Like a Boss achievement in GRID 2 - Definitive Guide

Custom Event:
Race Type - Drift
Vehicle Tier - Tier One
Rounds - 1 Round
AI Drivers - Very Easy

Advanced Settings:
Grid Order - Random
Damage - Visual Only
Flashbacks - Unlimited

Track Selection:
Location - Okutama
Track - Tenshi Way
Conditions - Day

Now pick the Chevrolet Camaro Z28 and anyone should have this achievement by the second hairpin, this is what i used and this is what i got first attempt: 266,260, and i am stone crap at drifting in this game ha.

I found this way easier than using the RX-7 or Skyline that's for the other drifting achievement.

Hope this helps.

Got it second time with 277k. I thought I'd try this way as it is the strangest way and the stranger ways are normally the best ways oddly. Thanks for sharing :)

I'm surprised by people saying this 'works'. It doesn't actually tell you anything about how to do it. The only people this will 'work' for are those who already know how to drift and get big scores. Otherwise you'll be lucky to crack 100k.

I did it with the help of this video. Note he actually explains how to do it, which was very useful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1ASiniG2ow

Spent two hours trying with the Mazda as per the Tokyo Drift achievement, couldn't even get close. Took four attempts with the Chevvy. Says it all!

This is not a easy achievement since you need to get 250,000 points in a single drift, but after some practice you may know how to work and how to get the multiplier bonus.

Without Multiplier bonus, is nearly impossible to get this achievement. It may need a lot of attempt or using flashback feature to get this.

My solution is the same of my solution in Tokyo drift.
GRID 2Tokyo DriftThe Tokyo Drift achievement in GRID 2 worth 117 pointsScore 350,000 drift points in Okutama in a Mazda RX-7 TYPE RZ or a NISMO R34T-R Z-TUNE.

Make sure You use a Drift car to do this since other (Balanced / Grip) is quite hard to do this.

Torll Rush, Okutama is quite a good track attempt this achievement but you can decide any track you like.

Before you get into a corner, try to speed up as much as you can so you can perform a better Drift.

Tips by Chelsea Ink: Turn in corner at full speed and get as close to the inside wall as you can on the first right hander in then the car just whips out, you may need to release the throttle a little to stop yourself spinning.

Multiplier Bonus:
External image

In most of the corner of Drift Event, you will see this Red-white color Pole. If you stay close of it when you drift, you will get a x2 multiplier, if you are very close(nearly touch), you will get a x3 multiplier.

x2 Multiplier bonus - stay close to the pole when drift
x3 Multiplier bonus - stay very close to the pole when drift

If the corner similar to semicircle like in the video, it like you are drifting 2 corners at the same time. If you perform a good drift, you should no problem get a x4 or x5 or even better, x6 multiplier bonus.

These action will make you lost all the Points you can earn in that corner:
- Collision, Crash the Pole, wall or your Opponent
- Spin
- Off-track

So when you get many points and have a good bonus but crash, off the track or spin, use the flashbacks feature and try again, always a welcome choice.
(For Custom Event, go to Advanced Options and make flashbacks to unlimited so you don't need to worry only have 5 flashbacks in the event.)

Since I got the achievement before I make this video so you won't see the achievement pop up, but you can get some tips from it. (I got this before using a tier 4 car in Red Bull Ring Track using Flashback feature when going wrong and get this one after that.)

Happy hunting!smile

@JTerk438 I am also using a controller and a drift car in this video, so it shouldn't have much difference.

Make sure you get a 3x multiplier from the first red pole and use flashbacks until you do. Then just aim for the second red pole and adjust your drift. Use flashbacks to after you enter the drift and tweak the finish for the easy 250k.
Took me a couple of times lining up the entry/first pole and then it was 3 adjustments mid-drift for 250k.

What am I doing wrong here?!

I used a tier 3 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X, the Team Orange one, and netted over 300,000 on Okutama - Tanishi Way at the second hairpin. I'm not that good at drifting, but this car gets sideways easily. I am also using a controller, not a steering wheel, not sure if that makes a difference.

Yes, got this and I cringe at using the word drift angry . Used the RX7 on Tenshii - Tenshi [Original Extended] by Gouryella is great BTW. I think there's easier ways and the car is barely fast enough - but I learnt you need to skim both posts and get the 6x multiplier. I used flashbacks many times a split second before hitting the 2nd post after I'd collided with the barrier right next to it instead. If you're using bonnet cam - change to far chase cam view. Turn in (right) and hit the handbrake; change down from 4th gear to 2nd; accelerate and steer left. (See the video above) headspin

Using the sign as a marker really helped, barely got it on my third try (this time around) as someone who's awful at drifting

Track: Okutama, Kenshi Way

In order to do this you MUST get a x5 multiplier on the corner shown in the video. To do this you must drift very close to the first pole and carry the drift past the 2nd pole. How i did it was to use the Nissan GT because of its speed and drifting abilities. As I approached the corner I tapped the handbrake and this allowed me to have more speed through the drift. You must keep the car above 50mph through the drift or it'll just spin out or stop completely.

If you put unlimited flashbacks on you can keep trying to do it for as long as you want. You don't have to use the Nissan GT, this is just an example. The NSX or any tier 3 drift car works well too.

Many people have been able to do this with Tier Two drift cars like the Mazda RX-7 Type RZ, but it can be a little difficult to do that. I personally recommend using a Tier Three drift car like the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 or the Viper, which worked a lot better for me.

Set-up a custom drift event on Okutama - Tenshi Way, with unlimited flashbacks and the Tier Three car of your choice. You want to aim for this achievement during the second or third hairpin turn. Go in with a very high speed, and get as close as possible to the first pylon hopefully getting a x3 multiplier. Because of the speed and the power of the car, you should be able to make it through the turn without breaking the drift adding an additional x2 multiplier. If you spin out or collide with something during the middle of the turn, make sure to use your flashbacks until you get it right. Just keep practicing and this should be the easiest method to get this achievement.

Depending on your multiplier, you will need at least this many points:
62,500 x 4 = 250,000
50,000 x 5 = 250,000
41,667 x 6 = 250,000
