How to unlock the Flawless Victory achievement in GRID 2 - Definitive Guide

You can get this achievement outside Carreer mode as well

Go to Custom Event, choose Overtake, one lap, infinite flashbacks and pick a track and car you feel most comfortable with (I chose Red Bull GP with a Tier 1 car).
Just take your time and finish the lap. If you bump in to someone or get off the track, use a flashback. Since it's only 1 lap this should be easy and stressless

Great guide! Was just about to post the same method, but you were faster. Race tracks make overtaking so incredibly easy. Forget the promo event, unless you like the challenge. ;)

I'm not sure you can use flashbacks - just tried it and didn't get it after using one - but the setup is just great! I'd suggest using something super-grippy like an Audi or GTR but that's just a personal preference.

You can 100% use flashbacks. I just got it and I used one.

Indeed, this makes it relatively easy to get because you can always rewind when you made a mistake. Just make sure to rewind far enough

Worked "flawlessly"!!! Flashbacks are good. I had one truck saw me off going into a turn on the inside.
I used Algarve GP circuit. It's very wide. Plenty of room to shake and bake.
Thnx!

Flashbacks didn't work for me. Did it 2x having to use a fb and didn't get it, 3rd time stopped being an idiot and just took it easy not using any fb and it popped

Flashbacks definitely work, just tested today.

It does work with flashback in a custom event, I used one and got it, but I did loads during career mode and it never popped. This must be where the confusion comes in :)

Isn't working for me in custom event or career with flashbacks.

This shit is bugged or something. Did a career race, no collisions, no flashbacks and I still don't get it. What the fuck?

Worked for me in custom event with flashbacks. Racked up the points on the straightaways on Indianapolis Infield Circuit.

NB: THIS ACHI DOES NOT UNLOCK ON ALL TRACKS/SITUATIONS! I did this about 10x in various ways (Brands Hatch Indy Rev didn't work). So I did this Red Bull GP Circuit (fake Mugello?), 1lap, on Very Easy and got it 1st time in the Golf shock . This RBGP Circuit is very wide - so I made sure I didn't even touch a kerb or bump any cars - obviously not the red multiplier reset events, but you can have collisions that aren't red reset events.

You can't go off the track either. If a red bar shows up around the points for next overtake area, you can't get this achievement...unless you flash back.

In any case, the custom event didn't work for me, even w/o flash backs. Used Ashadowy7gatesX's solution (Solution for Flawless Victory In GRID 2) and it worked like a champ.

For this achievement, you'll need to win an overtake event without making contact with other cars or the track. I recommend doing this on the first promo event that you are offered as it is quite easy.

To get this achievement, you'll want to just take your time around the course. Make sure to break early, take it easy in the corners, watch out for opponents, and get decent points in order to win, and you will unlock the achievement

Just a note to add to this is that going off track counts as a "collision" just tested.

I found this achievement extremely easy to do in the natural course of playing the career without event setting up a custom match. Also obtained the C-C-C-Combo Maker achievement without even trying on this event.

Towards the end of season 2 look out for the Alpinestars Overtake Promo Event . Going about getting the achievement is very straight forward, just win this 3 lap race without touching any barrier or car (collisions with the opponent's car counts as well as the pace cars). This track offers wide straight aways and multiple segments where the track is split into two lanes which allows for easy overtakes. The pace cars follow the same exact racing line on even the tighter stretches of this very short track, so if you do nudge into someone rewind and keep it in mind for the next lap.

I would have gotten this achievement first try on this event if it wasn't for the AI racer coming up on my rear and smashing me on the last turn of the third lap when I only had one replay remaining. Restarted the race and popped the achievement with no replays on the second go round.

Hope this saved someone else the 5 seconds of setting up a custom race!

Hey there. I'm gonna put my method through so use it or not your call.

Whilst going through career mode you will come across the Asian territories for the first time in year three, now I know this is a little way off for people wanting a fast cheevie but I found this to be the easiest event.

Once you have enough fans you will unlock the Etnies Overtake promo event at Yas Marina, GP Circuit. This is the event you are wanting to use, the track is nice and wide and it is only two laps long. The only thing you have to make sure about is that the multiplier NEVER gets a red warning beneath it, I tested this several times where I would go off road or bump a truck and even with a flashback you don't get the reward.

So to quickly sum up Yas Marina Promo race Year 3 and flashbacks will not help you if you muck it up.

Hope this helps,

All credit goes to myself.

The easiest way to do this is via a custom event. What you want to do is choose any track that you're familiar with and set the flashbacks to unlimited and the AI to 'Very Easy'. Now you will want to drive nice and slow, making sure not to crash into any walls, but not slow enough so you keep getting 100 points. If you do crash just press to use a flashback and go back to a point before the crash; this won't void the trophy.
