Unmissable - second event ("PEPPY'S REQUEST") requires you to do a barrel roll to continue through the storyline.
As for how would you go and do the barrel roll, in the Electric vehicle it's quite finicky to get the right angle at which you'd drive onto the ramp with half of your car, but once you find it, it should instantly pop once the action shows up on the screen (and the mission objective on the side goes from red to green).

I accidently popped this during a stadium truck series race in the main game - cocked up hitting one of the jump ramps with two wheels and hey presto!
