Win a race using manual transmission

How to unlock the Rhythm Shifter achievement in GRID Legends - Definitive Guide

I downloaded the trial to see if I liked the game (which I do) and I had a theory. What happens if I changed the difficulty mid game by changing the transmission to manual instead of automatic? Will the achievement unlock? So I changed my transmission to manual just before I went over the finish line and it worked. This may get patched soon so if anyone is trying to do this do it now. Also before you downvote it, just give it a try yourself.

Seems either if you choose "manual with clutch" or playing story, this won't unlock. At least I tried it first in story, chose manual with clutch and it didn't unlock. But second time in a quick race "manual sequential" worked.

Can confirm it still works.

I switched to manual as time counted to 0 in an Elimination race. Worked perfectly.

Can confirm you can simply simply to manual transmission moments before crossing the finishing line.

@Lord Monkfish I can confirm that. Before you cross over the finish just make sure that you change the transmission. As long as you do it before hand you should be fine

Another option is use electric car (I used jag e pace) and set it at manual. They only have one gear anyway. Popped for me

I did Time Attack (flying start) on the Indianapolis Oval in the Clio Cup. It’s just hammer down no need to brake or shift. Easy Peasy

Thanks for the tip, paired this with the 'Blue, Blue Skies' achievement, love a good 2-for-1!

This definitely worked. Got it today. If you do a career event with multiple rounds, you have to do this in the last round of the event and win, then cheevo will pop.

Create a own race and choose as following.

Disciplin: Electric
Class: Super-E
Car: Beltra Icon Mk3
Round: 1
Driver: 2

Track doesn't care, maybe something short. Before the race starts you are able to change the settings via Options > Game options. Change the transmission there to manual. As the car has only one gear you just have to win the race. It should op afterwards.

Go to the Career tab and select an Electric Race. Go to Options > Gameplay > Difficulty and set to Manual Sequential.

Electric cars don't have gears so you can play the race as normal.

The easiest way to get it is by choosing a manual transmission for an electric car - there is only one gear.
