How to unlock the You're one smooth operator achievement in GRID Legends - Definitive Guide
If you plan ahead, you can use this track/car combo to unlock two achievements and make progress towards a third.
To unlock this, you'll want to set up a race in the Race Creator using the Time Trial discipline. The car is in the GT Hypercar class of the Track Day category. As the achievement description says, you'll need to select "Strada Alpina" for the location, and "Circuito Stradale Strada Alpina", which is the first Route listed. You may as well set the conditions to Day (dry), and set the advanced options to allow you to use Vehicle and Mechanic upgrades. I also set damage to visual only, because some of the walls can really damage your suspension if you run a little wide.
This track layout is around 7 miles, and you may find yourself doing quite a few laps before you meet the target - so you should try to get this before you focus on completing all 200 miles needed to unlock "The racing car" achievement. However, you should first drive enough miles to be able to buy all upgrades on the car. I started by creating a custom race of 20 laps on the Indianapolis Oval (50 miles) and ran it once, and that was enough to unlock all of the upgrades for the Bolide.
I used the following tune settings:
Gear Ratio - center
Springs - 1 step right
Dampers - 1 step right
Ant-roll bars - 2 steps right (max)
Brake Bias - center
Those settings with full upgrades let me get to more than 265 mph on the back straight and unlock the "Need For Speed" achievement as well.
As far as the track, if you've played the rest of the game it shouldn't present too much of a challenge. Your first lap will be 2 - 2.5 seconds slower than a true flying lap, as you should be able to carry much more speed across the line than the rolling start gives you.
There are a couple of places where the road is very wide, and it is easy to stray too far off the racing line - if you do, you will get a message that your lap has been flagged as invalid. And the way they set up the Time Trial rules, not only will it invalidate the lap you're on, it will automatically flag the next lap, too. Personally, I ended the session every time I had a lap flagged - but as Mince lfc notes in the comments, you can still earn the achievement with a dirty lap (including cutting corners) - if you do it too often, though, you can be disqualified. Turning on the racing line before starting can help you avoid having your lap flagged (under the main game's Options\Difficulty menu).

Thanks for the info :) you can cut corners and still get the achievement, i cut the corners at the start of the track and received warnings plus lap was invalid but it still popped at the end of my second lap. If you cut too many you will get disqualified though

Might have just gotten lucky but using the tuning settings I managed to get this even on the starting lap with about 3 seconds to spare.
Maybe just dumb luck but at least for me a lot less painful than the one in the last DLC
Thanks for the suggestions!
