Near the start of year 3
You will find yourself in a dark cave looking place with Glotis. A creature will walk past with a light. When he is at the front of the screen (he loops around to the right, then in the distance to the left and back to the front again) speak with him, exhaust all dialogue options and one of those options will be about asking him how long he has been down here

You can ignore the options about going with him. I didn't choose that and still got the achievement.
