How to unlock the Touch of Otherwhere achievement in GRIME - Definitive Guide
New Game Plus only
To start a New Game Plus,
- open a file where you have beaten the final boss ("Inevitable" achievement)
- go to any save point
- at the save point, select 'Reality Shift'. This replaces your playthrough 1 file with a NG+1 file.
The NG+1 file completely replaces your old playthrough, but keeps all your stats, mass, items, equipment - no exceptions.
I recommend getting all the base game and expansion achievements before using the reality shift. Beating the bosses gives you upgrades that will make your NG+1 playthrough easier. Also upgrade your favourite weapon to +6.
In NG+1, beat the game again; beat the final boss ("Inevitable" achievement); then climb to the top of the mountain and launch the final cutscene. This achievement will pop when it finishes.
mdg79 reports that it also pops if you stand there and die for the Weakness ending rather than beating the final boss. Worth a try.
You can sequence break a lot in NG+1. As an outline for "things you should do", at a minimum:
- Beat the Vulture in central Feaster's Lair... you'll receive the kilyahstone
- Pick up the Strand of the Child in top-right Childbed underneath "The Dream Fog"
- Visit Shidra's home at the Worldpillar to receive the Unsealer
- Walk straight through the Carven Palace to Beyond the Barrier (east of map)
- Beat The Final Performance
- the first time you reach the final boss, try letting them kill you in the cutscene ("Weakness" achievement) - that might do it
- Otherwise, beat the final boss ("Inevitable" achievement)
- Climb to the top of the mountain
- Launch and watch the final cutscene
In practice you will want to beat most bosses and minibosses, to toughen up for the extra bonus boss (last achievement).

When choosing the vessel ending (Weakness achievement), the achievement unlocks as well (it did on the Steam version). Going through a New Game+ run on Xbox Series X as well, there I haven't reached the final boss yet.

Interesting! Thanks for the update. When exactly does it pop... at the end of the cutscene after getting that ending?
