Gold gear is gold. There is more than three to get throughout the game, but you'll pick up some of the blueprints for that gear along the course of the game. If not, then check the bonus sets of levels (off to the side of the main track).
You'll need gold to craft the gear, as well, and the best levels to farm I found was the first level in Flatulence Fort (side levels off to the side, near level 130) using the pickaxe which recharges after every battle and the Goldrush Garb which makes boulders weaker.
Once you have the gold to craft three pieces of gear, and equip the Grindstone Garb armor, then any level completing will get you the achievement.
