After meeting Flame Face in Santa Luchita you have to go to the forest as he blocked the way to the desert. After the first arena you meet Uay Chivo who brings you to his home.
After getting intenso and completing his tutorial (defeating some enemies using intenso) the achievement should pop.
It didn't pop on my first playthrough though, but when getting to this point again on my hard playthrough it popped after defeating all enemies.

Single player on first play through,the achievement did not pop for me. That makes two bugged achievements so far.

I was able to unlock this while playing co-op
