A Positive Bonus comes when you are very aggressive. Dashing at the opponent, pressing your attack, not backdashing or blocking. The opposite will put you into a negative state. If you don't attack, don't move, run away, you will be punished. You can get this by fighting the CPU on Beginner mode or in VS mode with a second controller. Just be aggressive and you will get a Positive Bonus eventually.
