To achieve a Gold star on a song you are required to hit 100% of the notes in a song.
I suggest you do a song on at least medium to unlock more achievements at the same time, the song i chose was 'Make It' - Aerosmith which is the 3rd song in the setlist.

This is a similar achievement to I Don't Want to Miss a Thing but can be achieved on easy difficulty. If you don't have this and instead go for I Don't Want to Miss a Thing you will get both achievements at the same time.
