How to unlock the Love Me Two Times achievement in Guitar Hero Aerosmith - Definitive Guide

Alright, you can either earn this achievement by playing every song with a buddy, or, you could turn on the no-fail cheat and play every song by yourself.

1. Select "Options", "Cheats", "Enter New Cheat" from the Main Menu.
2. Strum each note or chord to unlock "No Fail" Mode.
3. Pressing G from the "Cheats" Menu will disable this cheat.

G + R, B, G + R, G + Y, B, G + Y, R + Y, O, R + Y, G + Y, Y, G + Y, G + R

Make sure you play a few notes on each instrument, for good measure.

EDIT: You should probably include to go to Multiplayer > Co-op in the guide considering half the commenters are confused about this.
For what it's worth, I did NOT have to do this in one session, I did NOT have to hit any notes on EITHER controller, and I did NOT have to keep both players on the same difficulty (The Elven Jedi's solution, while confusing, is correct). I did have to turn the cheat off and fail a song -- this last step should be in the guide, not just the comments.

After you finished with playing all songs with the No Fail Cheat enabled, you have to disable the cheat and start one more song in Co-Op and fail it, otherwise the achievement wont unlock

I do not know, sorry. Did you do it all in one sitting? That seems to be an underlying perimeter for it.

no it wasn't all at once, do you think it would be because i joined the xbox live co ops and din't host them/

Maybe. I did them with the tip I wrote in one sitting, and it popped. Try that I suppose.

So it has to be done w/ 2 people?

no, you can do it by yourself w 2 guitars.

Or one guitar and a second controller.

Also, if you do it with another person, only the host gets the ach right away. The other person has to go into their career and it will unlock.

So does this have to be done in one sitting?

No, just 2 controllers plugged in.

I can confirm that this worked as of a couple of days ago. Did this with a 2nd (wired) guitar, jsyk... I assume that "Deuces are Wild" can be had the same way but I actually played through that whole setlist (in one go, btw) and it popped for me right away, as I was the host, while this achievement ("Love Me Two Times") popped for my friend 'phatal1ty' after failing the song and going back into the "Career" section, just like 'silencer018' stated above.

You don't have to do the vault songs right?

@LIBERT4D, no you do not have to do the Vault songs, or at least I didn't when I played the career.

@porsche, good guide, will be using it tomorrow. Thumbs up.

yer - i tried typing this code in on a standard controller - and nothing happens!!
I'm guessing you need a guitar to enter this code????

Yes, a guitar is needed.

Method still works. I just unlocked it.

I can confirm that this still works as of Jan. 12, 2012. I did it in one sitting, same difficulty and played notes on each controller. It took approx. 2hr30min. The best thing about it is that you can let the song play itself out, after you've hit a couple of notes on each controller. Go make yourself some lunch, go to the toilet or make some cake!

As to entering the cheat code(s), you do NOT need a guitar controller. Upon getting into the enter code screen you will see an on-creen guitar image with frets. The frets react to the controller (triggers, bumpers and A button,) just as the main game does. To play each chord you must flick the left stick to STRUM the on screen guitar. You will hear the chord play when done properly.

worked for me. i played all songs in one session with both players on expert. i never strummed a single note the entire time. when i finished each song i turned no fail off, queued up one more song, failed, and the achievement popped.

I didn't have to play a note for the achievement. Sometimes I only hit notes with the second, dummy controller too but not the main profile. Works like a charm! Can also be done with two standard controllers, no guitars needed.

This achievement I did super fast, I can confirm that in August 2023 this solution works and even NO NEED TO PLAY ANY NOTES. You have to play once on Bass and once on Guitar :)

To add to the previous solution, both players must be on the same difficulty and each controller has to hit at least 1 note for it to count. then back out after you finish the last song in the last setlist, disable the cheat, then re-enter co-op and fail any song.

This has to be done in co-op. Many have doubted whether or not this achievement is obtainable over Xbox Live, and after trying this method myself, I can say that it IS possible to get over Live, but, and I stress this, ONLY THE HOST WILL GET THE ACHIEVEMENT.

I was unsure as to whether the achievement would work or not, but I set up a few sessions as a few friends swore they got it this way. Anyway, the boosting method is as follows:
- Whomever is going for the achievement first, should set up a private co-op player match, 7 songs. Send the other player an invite, then when they're in, the host chooses the first 4 songs, the other player the next 3. Complete the songs, then repeat 3 more times. Once 28 songs are complete (4x7 song setlists), set up a 3 song match, with the host choosing the first song and a random one, and the other selecting the last song. The achievement will unlock for the host after all 30 songs have been completed.

This method will net you both Love Me Two Times and Deuces Are Wild in ~12hrs of play, as 4 playthroughs of the set-list are needed (2 per person, per instrument).

I'd like to thank Stealther GodX and Ultima22 for helping confirm this method, although to their annoyance as it ended up with them not receiving the achievement first time through.

EDIT - According to EmDeeGee, the reverse was the case for him, and the achievement unlocked for him without being the host, while the host did NOT unlock the achievement, using this method. I cannot comment on this, as I have not experienced it, but it appears that it may be even more glitch than first thought. So, to clarify, it might unlock for either the host or the other player. If you have any experience regarding the matter, please comment so we can know better the situation.

Unbelievable... Me and my buddy cjr stone tried to go for this, hoping we would both get the achievement. I was trying to be nice and let him host all the songs, so at least HE would get it. Surprise surprise however: after the final song, only I got the achievement, and I didn't host a single song! Could you edit your solution accordingly?

That is odd, as myself and others have had it the other way round. Are you sure you weren't host? Are you sure that you both used the correct instruments for the whole time?

100% sure. My buddy hosted all the songs. He picked 4, I would always pick 3. I played Bass, he did the guitar all the time. It's odd, I agree.

I thought it was obvious, this has to be done in co-op. And you have to play through the entire setlist twice, on guitar and bass.

Benchem's solution actually works as I have tried it, but I'd like to add on to benchem's solution. You don't need to do 4 playthroughs to get both achievements for both players, a buddy of mine and I have discovered that after the host gets his/her achievement, the player joining has to go to career, select expert and select the first song. Once the song has loaded up, hit a few notes, then fail the song, their achievement for playing guitar or bass will pop, saving a lot of time. So only 2 playthroughs are needed, try it if going for benchem's method, happy achievement hunting!

Select Multiplayer from the main menu, choose the Bass with the lead account and play through all 30 songs from the main setlist (there is no Joe Perry guitar battle in co-op) with your main band and make sure that the bass/rhythm is played by the account you want to unlock the achievement on.
I have received messages from people stating they got this over LIVE, when I tried it didn't unlock. If possible I would recommend going for this achievement in local co-op play.
