How to unlock the Toys in the Attic achievement in Guitar Hero: Aerosmith - Definitive Guide

Even if you're good at Guitar Hero games (as I am) you'll find this achievement to be a pain. After completing the game on Expert I went to Hard thinking that I would get the rest of the funds necessary... Wrong! And there was NO WAY I could find the patience to play this game on Easy as well as Medium thank you very much. So I had to start up 2 other bands and beat Expert Career on each of them (as well as beating 3 Expert songs on the 4th band I made).

So good luck doing this, and it unlocked for me when i needed to buy 2 more guitars so yay!! But plan for a LONG playing experience and to answer that comment, you can't get money for playing the same song twice (on the same band name) so that's when you start up another band and you'll get your cash.

Take care.

As an addendum, getting all 5*s on Expert, it took two full careers and three tiers of a third. That's about as short as this achievement will possibly get.

No yeah for sure, but me being the idiot, I bought some unneccessary items that didn't count towards achievements first and just spulrged all of the money I had, sadly finding out later, it wasn't like Guitar Hero III and I needed much more money to buy all of the axes in this game. GAY! :D

You CAN get extra cash from hard difficulty, even when you have five stars on expert in that band. 5* expert = $1800 and 5* hard = 1200 no matter what. No sense playing @ hard, though, if you can beat expert.

I think it's really stupid, that you don't get any money out of the co-op play!
So stupid!

When you get the other buying achievements you don't have to back out of the vault, just quit to dashboard.. You'll have the achievement, and the money back so you can fully concentrate on this one.

If you 5* the songs on expert, does it also unlock the 5* hard difficulty guitar?

This takes a lot less time than you suggest. there are 30 songs and the guitar battle. For each song, assuming you 5* it on expert, you get $1800 per song. You need a total of $93,400 for guitars. If you win the battle you also get $3600.

In short, assuming you 5* every song on expert, it will only take 1 and a half career playthroughs (1 and a half expert run, not all 4 difficulties)

You don't neeed to beat career on expert before getting this achievement cause I unlocked this achievement and haven't beaten game on expert cause I'm stuck on train kept a rolling. so i'm guessing all the guitars you unlock for beating the difficulty achievements don't count

To add another guide for this achievement you don't have to make several bands to get this achievement. You can get this achievement just by playing on 1 band. I did the math and everything (this is for people who play on expert though and that are good on expert). It'll be boring because you'll be having to play on every difficulty. For 5-starring every song on easy you'll get a total of $9,300; for 5-starring every song on medium you'll get $18,600; for 5-starring every song on hard you'll get $37,200; and 5-starring every song on expert you'll get $55,800. Which brings a total of $120,900, therefore, you can buy all the guitars so you can get the achievement. If you dashboard after you get the achievement and still need to get the achievement for buying all the characters and songs you'll be having plenty of money to buy all the characters and the songs. That'll get you 3 achievements in 1 go. If you play for a whole day you can get all those achievements in less than a 24 hour basis. Hope my guide helps you out. So I see these guides include the amount needed to get it, but not a list of what you need to buy and not to buy.

You do need to 5-star both Expert and Hard difficulties, earning you $93k. Then you need to play 1 song on medium to put you at $93,600.

There are 73 guitars needed to buy for the achievement, yet there are more than 73 to purchase since 5-starring Hard and Expert gives you bonus guitars.

So if you have done the above, the 4 guitars you DO NOT need to buy for this achievement are:
- The Man Eater: Special: Get A Grip worth $500. It looks like a tiger.
- EDS1275 Gibson: Doubleneck worth $5500. A white doubleneck guitar.
- Joe Perry Aerosmith: Walk This Way worth $500. A black funky looking guitar with holes in the body of it
- Joe Perry KVETCH: Doubleneck worth $4500. A black doubleneck similar to the Gibson mentioned above.

Buy all but those 4 and the achievement should pop immediately. If you are going for Kings and Queens and other achievements then you can use the dashboarding technique. Happy hunting

Thanks for the tip, only saved me from having to play a few more songs but nice to know you don't need 2 of the most expensive guitars.

If you're looking to get both this and "King & Queens", you will, at minimum, have to play through career 3 times and possibly more depending on how good you are at this game. This is because there is not enough money in one career to earn you all the money required to purchase all the items in the game. I finished 3 bands and played around 9 more songs on a fourth so I could get this and "Kings & Queens".

This is potentially the hardest achievement in the game, and easily the most time consuming.

If you're looking for just this achievement, you're looking at around 2 and a half playthroughs buying nothing but guitars.

Good luck, this one isn't fun. =(

What you can do for all of the buy stuff acheivements is by dashboarding it Save up $93,500 (for toys in the attic) by playing through as many bands and careers as necessary. Could be 4 Expert play throughs =(.You then go and buy the guitars, get the acheivement. Then Go to the dashboard without saving. Load up the game again and buy all the other things(people, finishes etc) to get the other achievements. Do this until you have got all the achievements. By doing this you will not have to save hundreds of thousands of dollers taking time and effort. WHAT EVER YOU DONT SAVE AFTER PURCHASING OTHERWISE YOU WILL HAVE TO PLAY THROUGH AGAIN!!! I made that mistake lol.

For this achievement you will have to purchase the 73 guitars which are available to purchase from the start (not the bonus guitars). The total price is $93,200. You can purchase these using any band in your profile as once you have purchased a guitar it is unlocked for every band you use.
