If you aim to surpass these scores you'll nail this achievement, it shouldn't cause too much trouble, but if you're struggling make sure you're using star power in the best places, these are normally the lengthy single note areas and such. Play with which ever guitar controller you feel most comfortable with, personally I use my GH:M controller and lastly don't be afraid to use the Hyperspeed cheat.
On the main menu (the one which lists career, quickplay etc) press; "Blue, Orange, Yellow, Orange, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Yellow."

Thank you to http://scorehero.com for the superb listing of cut off points, I hope they help other guitar hero players as much as they've helped me.

can i ask a noob question and not be flamed? I'm only a medium player at best and i'm struggling to 5 star a few songs, what does the Hyperspeed cheat do and how can it help me? My logical brain tells me that hyperspeed speeds up songs!!

It doesn't speed up the actual song. What it does is speed up the rate which the notes travel down the high way. It means that notes become easier to distuingish between as the gap between them is spread out a little better.

This is quite a workout on the wrist and fingers when 5*ing every song with a controller. I tried playing Hard but the A button for Orange throws me off.

5 star every song on medium tour, not including bonus tracks, This isnt too bad, once you get a feel for the songs and master the blue fret, you shouldnt have a problem. See https://www.scorehero.com for 5* cut off charts.
