I don't think there is a solution other than KEEP PLAYING THE GAME (GHTV mode).

My general tips to score big are:

1) unlock as many upgrades as possible, especially BASE NOTE VALUE (4/4 will cost you 30K coins), MAX MULTIPLIER (4/4 will cost you another 30K coins)
2) play at the difficulty where you can maintain your max multiplier (x7) for most of the song
3) try to improve your skills so you can play ADVANCED difficulty (each song will give you approx. 200K to 500K points) or EXPERT which (if played well) will give you even bigger scores

I unlocked it just an hour or so before reaching LEVEL 20, so it takes time to get there.
