How to unlock the Amazing! achievement in Guitar Hero Live - Definitive Guide

UPDATE :

RIP Guitar Hero Live... cry

This achievement (and many others) is now discontinued, as the GHTV servers has been closed.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

UPDATE :

iPro DubStepXx gave a much simpler solution :

"Cry of Achilles from Alter Bridge has 1029 or so notes... ON REGULAR !! it's really easy :D"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another song easier than Temper Temper, in my opinion, is Lazerray (by TV on the Radio).
That song contains a little more than 1,000 notes on Expert, so you must aim the FC.
Do not use the bomb, because the notes destroyed by that power up don't count for the streak.

I also managed to do the achievements for 420,000 points w/o Hero Power and for 500,000. But I bought 2 upgrades for my guitar (streak x5 and more points for a note).

Good luck everyone!

Another tip from DJ Drty Chapstk :

"You can use the safety net hero power to help you through trouble sections or simply as a preventative measure to keep you from choking as your streak approaches 1,000."

Could someone post a gameplay video so we can see the chart without having to use a play? Might wanna strip the audio so you don't get it taken down.

Cry of Achilles worked like a charm. 10+ misses first try. 2 misses second try. FC and the achievement on my third try.

You should move that up to the first line of the solution. CoA should be the headline, not Lazerray.

OK, so clearly what you guys are calling easy is still super hard for me. I really can't FC anything that isn't on Casual, the two layers of notes still throw me off and since I'm more focused on Rock Band 4 I can't really switch to that style of guitar either.

Tried Cry of Achilles on regular and missed notes after about 10 seconds. I put it on Casual but there are only 700ish notes.

Are there any longer songs that might have more notes? The Avenged Sevenfold "premium" ones weren't too bad either, probably also around 700 notes.

This is not an easy achievement, in Cry of Achilles, you have to not miss for at least 6 minutes and something, it's still tough. Keep practicing, try go further then Casual, try Regular on easy songs then move on to harder songs, and keep progressing that way. Cry of Achilles must be the easiest way to do it - As of now. I did this about 10 times before I got it, and at first I could not do the parts either, but then I just played Expert and learned how to move my fingers and getting to know the 6 buttons, and then it was pretty much a cakewalk.

This is not an achievement for people who haven't mastered Advanced yet.

Just to confirm bombs as your hero power does work. I have just done this used 3 of them throughout the song got around 1005 notes, missed one and achievement popped

Can this be done by just playing along channel 1 or 2? I mean do the count carries over between songs provided the player makes no mistake?

Definitely not considering this an easy song to get 1000 notes on haha. I probably miss around 10-20 notes during a play through, and playing that song over and over gets old. So I am shelving this achievement for now and trying to play on Advanced all the time for now. Might come back to it later.

I just got the achievement on regular for Cry of Achilles. I wouldn't call it easy, but I guess it depends on what you are comparing it to. I used bombs on the sections where you had to hit black 2 and white 3 at the same time. I FCed the song and it popped at the end of the song.

Cry of achilles has 1030 notes on regular.
Bombs work. Used them for trickier parts and got FC.
Playing on advanced helped get my skills up to recognise the notes instead of playing by muscle memory.
Also make sure your calibration is working.

I actually find Lazerray much easier than CoA--and it's shorter, too, in case I mess up. I'm much better at straight-up double-strumming than all the 3-against-2 triplets and the ever-changing time signature.

I used CoA for the point-related achievments, but it's not good for the streak.

Cheers worked like a charm first time Regular difficulty on Cry of Achilles by Alter Bridge.

For those who want to get the 500,000 points achievement, I got 528,000 on this with a Level 4 base note points upgrade and a 5x multiplier guitar upgrade.

I posted a video with the run on Regular for people to look at (since otherwise you have to use up plays).

I got a note for a copyright claim, they said I didn't have to take it down, but I couldn't post ads, and they would. That's cool by me. laugh

Just for kicks...

I wanted a chart of Cry of Achilles for me to look at, so I took a crappy iPhone video. I also uploaded it. It should give you idea both how the song goes as well as how bad I suck. smile

Broken Generation by Of Mice & Men on Expert is about as doable as Lazerray if you're comfortable with open notes.

I just got this by playing Cry of Achilles by Alter Bridge on regular. This song has 1,029 notes in it. It can be a bit tedious if you're not comfortable with dual notes or aren't used to playing open strings. I didn't do it so it is not confirmed but if there is an area you are struggling with I would assume you could use the safety net hero power to help you through that section.

(Online - UNOBTAINABLE DUE TO SERVER CLOSURE)

To earn this trophy you need to perform a 1000 note streak in any song on GHTV either in the free channels, the premium content, or in a song on demand. This means that you need to hit 1000 notes in a row without missing any or losing the streak by strumming when not necessary, all within one single song. The good news is that it can be earned on regular difficulty.

Song Recommendations

1) 'Cry of Achilles' by Alter Bridge on regular difficulty (thanks to RaemNL for the suggestion!) - There are only 1029 notes on regular leaving you no room to mess up mid song and it has a 5/5 intensity rating so it's by no means easy. However, on regular it is still very much manageable. Continue to practice it until you're able to FC it to earn the trophy!

2) 'Lazerray' by TV On the Radio on expert difficulty - Though there are only just enough notes so again you must FC/100% it without messing up mid song, which naturally will likely be harder on this higher difficulty compared to the suggestion above which can be earned on regular.

A lot of people have been experiencing calibration problems in GHTV meaning they're missing notes even though it should have registered as a hit, making the trophy more difficult than it needs to be. Your best solution is to go into the pause menu, press Options then Calibration and turn on 'Game Calibration’. This improves the problem for most people.

To do this, you don’t have to play Expert, you can set the difficulty level to Regular and select the song Cry of Achilles, it has just over 1000 notes.

Really an easy song. On the Regular, I got the trophy on the first try, without using a single bomb.

Yes, this song is the most optimal in 1000 notes. But this trophy will have to be obtained with sweat and blood, especially considering that the playz are not endless. I knocked out the current myself and a month later I made my first attempts at this trophy. The only important addition is that it is better to use networks as bonuses; they allow you to secure almost half of the song for yourself, and this is very important. But this won’t even save you if you consistently don’t get 99% of it. It will protect you from 2-3 mistakes, but you will go broke on networks if you are not playing this song very consistently. Therefore, leave their purchase and use to the high level of your skill in a given song. Well, an upgrade to the maximum number of bonuses for a song is highly desirable.

If there is a section of the track where you most often stumble, then you can go through it using a bomb (the very first perk) - no points are awarded, but the “exploded” notes are added to the streak combo.
