Everytime there is a weapon on the ground, look at it and press UP on the d-pad. Cannot just spam the same item 100 times, it has to be a different one each time.

Want to add that I'm pretty sure this only counts 1 ping per item.
You can spam ping a weapon/vault/chest/peddler etc but I don't believe that increases the counter.

Ping everything peddlers,craftsmen,chests,the vault entrance & guns. The ping system is annoying half the time you try it doesn’t work if someone else pings it first. Just keep spamming up eventually it will register. I found it easier to ping chests than guns for some strange reason however I was able to ping some of them
