A song will automatically play when you hit 1000 Kudos. The best way to get Kudos is to find bonus emblems on stages, picking one up grants you 500 right away. Then you can build up the other 500 off of enemies or finding another Emblem.
In the stage select screen, you can select the music option and then uncheck songs you already have, so that it doesn't play again. Meaning it will only play songs you have not unlocked.
After finishing the game, you'll unlock the boss rush. The last set of songs are unlocked by finishing this. It is very easy with the heal ability, so I won't go into it.
