How to unlock the Head Start achievement in GWENT: The Witcher Card Game - Definitive Guide

Above solution from KrakenScorch is a spot on top quality solution. However, I will let you to know how simply I got this achievement. First I will tell you the preparations then the strategy that how I got this one. Beware that you have to use the Monster faction in order to get this while using this guide.

Preparation
First of all you have to craft or , get from kegs, an "Old Speartip" card from the monster faction that has a whopping power level 13 as basic strength. This card is a golden card so it may cost you a little bit of scrap, approximately costing 800 scaps. Secondly you have to craft or get from kegs 1 or just in case 2 "Adrenaline Rush" named card that is listed in Neutral card section. This Neutral card will only cost 80 scarps to craft.
Once you have all above mentioned cards, at them to you're Monster deck and fill the rest of the deck as you see it fit.

Execution
I recommend that you will play Casual Matches if you don't want to destroy your Ranked status at Ranked Matches.
During the first mulligan stage, make sure that you have at least 1 Adrenaline Rush AND Old Speartip on your starting hand. If you are missing either of these forfeit the game and start another one !
After successfully getting got both of the cards to you're starting hand, you can start the game. The goal is that you have to let you're opponent to pass the turn before you do either getting a way ahead of you're opponent or making and impression to you're opponent that he/she is going to win the first round.
AFTER your opponent has passed DO NOT at any circumstance pass you're turn BEFORE you have first played Old Speartip and secondly have attach it Adrenaline Rush. By doing this you will give Old Spearhead an Resilience status that will let it to continue to second round with it full power of 13 and netting your achievement along the way without of fear that your opponent will kill or weaken it by any means necessary.
The achievement will unlock just shortly after your first turn on round two !

We create a deck based on monsters.
We put Count Caldwell and Goliath + Alzur's double cross (to make it easier to find the cards you need) + a couple of adrenaline rushes (for durability).
In the first or second round we play the Count or Goliath, throw adrenaline at him and pass. We start the next round with 10 units of strength.
Easier to do in a friendly match.

The trophy is currently glitchy (January 2019). Does not count if you have Goliath/Count Caldwell (strength 10) or Old Grotto (strength 13) with toughness.

However, to get the trophy, all you need is a card of any faction with an initial strength of 10+ and an Adrenaline Rush. The main thing is that at the end of the turn the desired unit is not damaged to a strength of less than 10.

I made the card even simpler for 13, at the end I threw the cost and in the next round the trophy is yours
