How to unlock the Artifanatic achievement in GWENT: The Witcher Card Game - Definitive Guide

Artifacts are cards that are identified by a chalice on the top left of the card. These typically remain on the board until the end of the round unless destroyed.

For your deck build you should use 5-7 artifacts of your choosing if you want your deck to be more balanced. Alternatively, you could just use as many as you want since you don’t have to win for this achievement. You can use any faction but it should be noted, that as of this writing, the Scoia’tael has 5 unique artifacts which is much higher than the other factions.

I find that players will often destroy at least one of these cards each round, so I would highly recommend trying this when you have at least 5 artifacts in your hand if you want to avoid some headache.

Lastly, bronze colored cards can have 2 copies in a deck while gold cards can only have one copy. I unlocked this achievement with 2 of the same artifact in play so they don’t all have to be unique.

Edit: Updated after Mulligan update (10.01.19). Cards being swapped:
- Petri's Philter + Incinerating Trap
- Hawker Support + Elven Scout
- Dwarven Agitator + Elven Scout

The deck I used:

Gwentup link, with provisions: https://gwentup.com/decks/1892

This requires some setup and lots of luck. The objective is to play 3 or more artifacts in round 3, with Caretaker and/or Avallac'h Sage providing the last ones. Traps do count as artifact, but I've only tested Crushing Trap. Obviously, this must be done in Casual mode as there are less efficient decks.

Artifacts: Cards with the symbol of a chalice in the corner. Currently not searchable in Gwent.
In this deck, we have 8 artifacts with the possibility of 11 (with Caretaker, Renew -> Caretaker, Francesca -> Renew -> Caretaker).

In this deck: 2x Wyvern Scale Shield, 1x Petri's Philter, 1x Incinerating Trap, 2x Mastercrafted Spear, and 2x Crushing Trap.

How to do this:

Round 1:
Thin with witchers (have 2 witchers in deck and play the third one to pull them). Play unit bronzes. Play two or three artifacts. Play Royal Decree on Avallac'h Sage. You should play down to 4 cards if going second (red) and down to 5 cards if going first (blue).

Round 2:
If you lost, pray that your opponent passes and play a low bronze unit. If you have not used a special card (Renew / Royal Decree), you should do it to activate Francesca ability.

Entering Round 3, you want these cards in your hand: 3-5 artifacts, Renew (with Caretaker in graveyard) or Royal Decree (with Caretaker / Avallac'h Sage + artifact in deck).

Round 3:
The first play should always be Caretaker or Renew -> Caretaker to pull an artifact from your graveyard. Ideally, you want Caretaker to die so that you can use him a second time. Then, simply play your artifacts one by one. Crushing trap is usually good to finish off with (play it as the fourth artifact). You can kill off your own Caretaker with Mastercrafted Spear, to play him again with Renew. Remember to have at least one artifact left in the deck, as you might have to use Avallac'h Sage to pull one (or Renew -> Avallac'h Sage).

It took a few tries, but once you have the setup it usually works!

We assemble a deck of cards with a cup icon in the left corner. Place 4 artifacts in the arena and get a trophy

Not only your artifacts count, but also those artifacts placed on the battlefield by the enemy.
