How to unlock the Blessed by the Gods achievement in Hades - Definitive Guide

Will come naturally over time. Once you unlock the list of prophecies, a scroll icon will show up on boons you have not selected yet. If you want to grind this out fast, simply always choose the boons with scroll icons every run, and keep doing runs until this pops.

Boons are the Zagreus' main source of power and abilities, and are really what makes the game so replayable and interesting, keeping each run completely different. Boons are the way your relatives from Mount Olympus try to help you escape. They cannot be there themselves, so instead, they lend you their powers. Each God has their own theme that matches what they represent, what they are the God of, and even their personality. Zeus is, quite obviously, lightning damage, Poseidon is water damage, and so on, and many are quite creative. (Note: Demeter's Boons will not appear until you have reached the final boss at least once; success is not necessary.)

These Boons don't quite give you entirely new attacks, but they change the ones you currently have. You still have the same basic moves (Attack, Special Attack, Cast, and Dash), but they're altered by adding their powers to it. For example, Zeus' main Attack Boon will add chain lightning to your Attack, or Dionysus' Cast Boon changes your cast into a Festive Fog bomb, and so on. In addition, the Boons you pick up can be leveled up, increasing their bonuses, by picking up Poms of Power (the pomegranate) from chambers or Charon.

To get this trophy, you need to find and accept 100 different Boons, which is obviously cumulative. There are 126 Olympian Boons in total (Boons from Chaos do not count as Chaos is considered a Chthonic God, not an Olympian). As you do your runs, you'll come across Boons as chamber rewards. When you go to accept it (by pressing r1.png), it will give you an option of 3 different Boons from that one God in question.

There are 3 kinds of Boons that you get from Olympians, and everything is color coded:
  • Normal Boons which come in 4 different rarities (Common-White, Rare-Blue, Epic-Purple, and Heroic-Red). Each God has 13-15 normal Boons.
  • Duo Boons (Green), of which there are 28 in total. These are Boons from two Olympians, mixing both of their unique effects together. Each God has 3-5 Duo Boons and they can be accepted from either one of the 2 Gods.
  • Legendary Boons (Orange), of which there are 11 in total. These are the highest tier of boons and are very rare and most have requirements. Each God has 1 Legendary Boon, except for Poseidon and Hermes who have 2 each.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

- Note that many Boons have requirements before they can be in the available pool offered to you. Each God's Boons generally work on a tree; many have no requirements and are the first level of the tree, then others will only be offered once you've picked up one of those first-branch ones, and so on. To find a Duo Boon, you must have at least 1 Normal Boon from each of the 2, from a specific pool depending on the Duo Boon in question. That Codex Index mentioned above adds a list of each God's Boons to their Codex entries. Simply navigate to the God in question's Codex entry and then press the touchpad. This will show you every Boon they have, including Duos and Legendaries, and on the right-hand side will be a list of requirements to find them.

- In addition, it's important to know that if you accept a Boon for, let's say, your Special Attack, it is highly unlikely that you'll get another God's Boon for that same attack move, at least not before you've already accepted Boons for the other major skills. So if you know that you specifically want a Deflect Boon for your Attack, you might think, I'll take this boon in the meanwhile, but don’t do that. Even though it seems counterintuitive to skip Boon chambers thinking you'll add extra Boons to your list, that dilutes the possible Boon pool, so if you know what you want, feel free to skip Boon chambers. For some more tips regarding that, see here: LINK.

- Which Boon you choose is up to your playstyle, but I definitely recommend always picking the one you have not gotten. You don't need to memorize which ones you have and have not gotten because there will be a prophecy icon (looks like scrolls) on the Boons that you have never picked up before. Plus, if you hover over it, on the right hand side of the screen, it will say that it has been prophesied that you will take it. This way, not only will you get this trophy much quicker, but you'll learn what Boons work best for you. Remember that some are much better for one weapon, while they may not be so great for another.

- Although not required, you will absolutely want to buy the "Codex Index" job from the House Contractor for 50 Gemstones, as that will add a list of Boons for each Olympian, complete with the requirements for that Boon, as well as if you've never picked them up before and still have a prophecy for it. There is one prophecy for each God, to get all of their Boons at least once, so if you feel like you should have gotten this trophy yet but still haven't, check the lists in the Fated List in your bedchamber, and it'll show you which ones you have and haven't gotten. Plus, that means 9 prophecies to work towards for Had to Happen trophy_bronze.pngNote: You won't get the prophecy for that Olympian's Boons until you've given them their first Nectar. That said however, you won't lose any time; it will still count all of their Boons you've found before you unlocked the prophecy. The only difference is that you don’t see the icon mid-run, so you won't know whether you got that boon before or not.

- One of my favorite Boon combos is getting an Attack and/or Special Deflect boon from Athena (my most favorite Boon ever), and then getting a boon from Demeter (usually either the Crystal Beam Cast one or her summon, Demeter's Aid). With these two, the next Athena or Demeter Boon will usually offer their Duo Boon "Stubborn Roots", which allows you to regen 1 Health point every second once your Stubborn Defiance talent (from the Mirror of Night) has been used in that chamber. This is, as far as I am aware, the only thing in the entire game that gives you active health regen. This is my default setup now and has saved me more times than I can tell, and has helped me get an epic win streak. Athena's Deflect Boons are probably best for the Chaos Shield and the Coronacht Bow, but they still work well with every single weapon.
