How to unlock the Death Dealer achievement in Hades - Definitive Guide
Thanatos will start show up around runs 7-9 on your first play through, after that it’s random when he’ll pop up in a room.
You’ll get a dialogue prompt when you enter, and the screen will say “DEATH APPROACHES”. He will join you for the room and if you outscore him by defeating more enemies than him, you get a health up.
Beating him by 15 is kind of run dependent, and if you can’t get it easily, gain more darkness upgrades / wait for a better run to attempt it.
Some helpful tips if you’re attempting it:
-always focus the enemies that have low health/break into smaller enemies, these ones will inflate your kills
- if an enemy has armor, ignore it and go for easier/weaker/non armored enemies
-he has 2 main attacks, a giant purple circle that kills anything inside it, and a mark that you can identify by the enemies health bar turning purple
-his attacks do no damage to you, and there’s a few seconds after he targets you before the enemy dies. You can in theory just attack and kill the enemies he marks before he can, ensuring you get more kills while he gets none
Other than that it’s up to skill. Use the best play style for you. You can get it very early, I got it on our first encounter together (run 8 I think?) with the base fists, so it is doable. Good luck!

Glitched for me. I got 22 kills, and Than got 5, but the cheev hasn't pinged.

This is definitely one of the hardest trophies on this list. Thanatos, one of the 4 romanceable characters, is essentially the Grim Reaper and he 'aids' Zagreus by helping him destroy some enemies, but it's also a challenge to kill more enemies than he does. If you lose, you just get that chamber's item as usual. If you win, he gives you an additional Max Health Heart as a reward.
This trophy is fairly self-explanatory. To get this you'll have to beat him by killing at least 15 more enemies than he does. This is going to be tough for a few reasons. Firstly, it'll have to appear in a room that even has that many enemies to begin with. Secondly, he's obviously good at his job and does a lot of damage. Your only advantage here is that he's a bit slow as his attacks need a few seconds to go off each time, giving you a little extra leeway. A good strategy here is to target whatever he is targeting so you kill it before he can, unless another enemy nearby is a one-shot enemy, etc. You'll know that he's targeting the enemy if their health bar turns purple.
If you happen to get a Thanatos chamber in Elysium, you can cheese the number-of-enemies problem. Leave one of the Exalted mobs alive and kill everything else, and then just keep killing it and then letting it respawn each time rather than killing the blue droplet-soul thing of theirs that appears when they die.
