How to unlock the Escaped Elysium achievement in Hades - Definitive Guide
Elysium is the third region of the game. Beating Elysium entails navigating your way through several different rooms. Not all of which are guaranteed to contain encounters in which you fight enemies.
Some general tips for the encounters:
The enemies that look like warriors and hold swords, bows, shields, etc. will turn into floating orb-like creatures when you will them. You must kill these as well. If you do not, they will turn back into their human form and you will have to kill them again.
If you see the wheel with the three choices, this lets you meet Patroclus. Patroclus has some VERY good buffs to give you that can help you with the bosses of Elysium and perhaps the final boss too. The most noteworthy is the ability to completely refill your Death Defiance mirror perk.
The minibosses in this region are not easy at all especially if you have not beaten Elysium yet. The two minibosses are a giant Soul Catcher (butterfly ball) and Asterius, the Minotaur. If you are against the butterfly ball, kill the butterfly ball as soon as possible. Enemies will continue to spawn infinitely until the butterfly ball is dead. Asterius is a little easier in my opinion. He jumps around a lot and will charge around even more. As soon as you see him coming your way, dash out of the way and then hit him. To give yourself more time to hit him, dodge while he is charging towards a wall or pillar and he will be stopped for a second.
At the end of Elysium, you will face a duo boss: Theseus and the Minotaur (Asterius). If you beat Asterius as a miniboss, he will start the fight with less health.
This fight is not easy and will require some patience and practice to get this down. Asterius behaves the same way that he did during the miniboss fight. Theseus, however, is very annoying. He will throw spears at you and will do damage when he pulls it back. When you see the pink marker on you, dodge to behind a pillar. Theseus will also hold his shield in front of him making him impervious from the front and you must attack him from the back.
When either of them gets to half health, they will behave differently. Asterius will become more aggressive and charge more. Theseus will call upon a god and spam the field with damaging areas. Do NOT get Theseus down to half health until you have beaten Asterius first. You will be dodging a lot during this fight.
Choosing the right weapon to fight with purely comes down to your own personal preference. The shield is a safe weapon, the Aspect of Chaos is especially good if you want to play defensive and special your opponents to death. Experiment around with what works best for you, but overall the fight can be done with whatever weapon. If you want to upgrade a given weapon, spend Titan's blood that your earn by beating Meg with the various weapons. I don't recommend selling the Titan's blood until you have beaten the final boss.

Story-related and cannot be missed.
Elysium is the third biome in the game and is made up of 11 Chambers that you must clear. (See Escaped Tartarus for more about chambers & rewards.) The final Chamber is the boss fight, Theseus and Asterius. You'll need to defeat both to complete this area. While the bosses themselves don't change like the others, at 50% health, Theseus will call upon one of the Olympian Gods to help him, and which God answers is random each time.
Elysium is arguably the hardest region in the game, not least because most of the enemies here have to be killed twice else they respawn.
See below for more details on the boss fight [SPOILER WARNING]:
Theseus:
Theseus is the human one, his primary attack is to throw his spear at you and call it back, thus damaging you as it goes in and as it comes back. If you get too close to him too much, he does have a second attack, which consists of lunging at you and then whirling his staff around in a large circular area. He's easy enough to evade and deal with.
When Theseus reaches 50%, he'll enter Phase 2 where he becomes invulnerable for a short while as he calls on an Olympian God to help him. While the God he calls is random (but never Hermes), it will never be a God whose Boon you currently possess (eg. if you have a Boon from Ares, Theseus will never call on Ares). The only exception to this is if you have a Boon from every single Olympian, at which point he will call on Artemis. Each God gives their own special AOE attack, but they all follow the same pattern: medium-to-large circles will begin spawning on the floor, and you'll have a few seconds to get out of them before the attack triggers. So, if it was Dionysus, purple circles will constantly appear near you, and stepping inside them will infect you with the Hangover status effect. (Note: It's important to know that whichever God Theseus summons will also give their status effects to his weapons, so, with the Dionysus example, if Theseus hits you with his spear, you will also be hit with the Hangover status effect.)
Asterius:
Asterius is really what makes the fight more challenging. Asterius is the large bull and he has a few different attacks, all of which are powerful. First and foremost, he has a set combo he always repeats. First the Axe combo: he'll jab at you and swing his axe in a large circular area twice. Then he'll do his Leap combo attack, where he leaps up in the air, tracking you, and slams down on the ground directly in front of you. When he lands, he'll either follow that with another 2 Leaps, or another Axe combo. Finally, his 3rd move is a Bull Rush. You'll know it's coming because he begins it by pawing at the ground twice first, after which he will sprint after you. You'll need to kite him around, and the best thing to do is to kite him directly into one of the four pillars in the room. If you succeed, you'll stun him for a few moments. If not, he'll hit you and you'll take decent damage. (Note: When Asterius reaches 50%, all of his attacks cause large destructive waves that flow from his hits and do high damage.)
