How to unlock the Crimson Alone achievement in Halo 4 - Definitive Guide
The first mission ("Land Grab") of Episode 1 ("Departure") is the easiest. You only need to destroy five little generators and then mop up the remaining enemies, and there are a large number of (respawning) vehicles around the map. Just get in a Wraith and destroy everything that even looks like it might be planning to move. Then destroy everything around that thing. You literally never have to leave the Wraith for the entire mission. Then get to the evac and Mission Complete.

Indeed the best way to get it is the first mission! Just get your self a Wraith every time you get killed and kill as many as you can. I'm not the best the best Halo-player and it took me about 25 minutes to complete the mission on Legendary

yes mate - the respawning wraith pretty much seals the deal - i was always inside of a vehicel - at the start i took the warthog with the gauss canon - let the marines drive and finished the objectives - after that i died, respawned, took the wraith, died, respawned, took the wraith ...

This achievement requires you to do a spartan ops mission on legendary solo.
The easiest i found was to do chapter 3 of episode 1. This was the easiest at the time. In spartan ops you have unlimited lives so just kill everyone and dont be afraid to rush.
If doing chapter 3 of episode 1 then use a precision weapon such as a BR or a DMR. Headshoting the crawlers will kill them straight away.

I finished the second chapter on legendary and when I was finished the Halo 4 Servers were off line, so I did not get the achievement. So there might be a glitch in this one!

The servers crashed on the day of release so you might have to do it again.
The achievement itself isnt glitched you just got unlucky.

Just a small comment I'd like to add:
You can get this achievement with a buddy, as long as they quit out (you must be host). My friend and I helped each other during the shorter mission (we did mission 3), and he quit right after the last crawler was dead, and I got the solo achievement.
Just to make sure it worked, we did the same when strategy where he hosted, I quit near the end, and he also got the achievement.
EDIT: Please comment on how I can improve my solution before voting negative. thanks

I was wondering if anyone else picked up on this. I can confirm you can get this achievement in a 4 player co-op game on legendary, as long as the 3 others quit after killing the last enemy but before you proceed to the evac point. We found this out on Ep1Ch5 when one of the team "fell" into a wall and one by one we all re-spawned on him after killing almost all of the enemies. There was no way to get out of the wall so we had to quit, but the last person managed to kill himself and since there was no-one left in the game to re-spawn on, he spawned outside the wall, finished the chapter and got this achievement. It was hilarious.

Chapter Two of Episode One (Sniper Valley) I found to be easiest given the fact most of the time you can use a BR or DMR to kill almost all the enemies from range. The only enemies that will give you a hard time are the Elites with the Swords and Fuel Rod Gun. Keep distance and advance. The only daunting part of this episode chapter is the last few enemies in the final hill downwards as they have a continuous stream but remember: You have the high ground!
Good load out for this is the DMR/BR and a Magnum. Plasma Grenades. Plasma sticks can be fatal to almost anything on Legendary, including Elites.

Crimson Alone - 20G (Original Achievement)
Difficulty: 3/10
To get this Achievement, you simply need to complete any of the current 25 Chapters of Spartan Ops on Legendary difficulty while playing solo.
Note: When you die you WILL respawn, so don't freak out and try to be hardcore ninja.
I suggest playing Episode 1, Chapter 1. It's straight forward enough. Destroy the 4(?) devices and then kill all Covenant on the field.
There will be Wraith's parked all over the place and they will respawn after a while too, so you will get this Achievement sooner or later. Simply snipe Wraith shots across the map if you aren't too fond of close quarters.

[INFINITY] >>>> [Spartan Ops] >>>> Chapter 2, Episode 1 (Sniper Alley) Don't forget to set the Difficulty to Legendary.
Use the BR/DMR to pick off Enemies, don't forget to use cover, and take enemies down one by one. For the Energy Sword elites...Kill the first when he runs round the corner, Take his sword...This will come in helpful when other Sword Elites rush round the corner to attack you. Also using the Sword to take out Elites, this will save you ammo for your BR/DMR.
There are Ammo boxes after each area section to replenish your BR/DMR.
