How to unlock the Just a Scratch achievement in Halo 4 - Definitive Guide
Note: All of the Champions Bundle Achievements are "buggy." They are generally slow to unlock and/or take multiple attempts before unlocking. Follow the descriptions of the achievements and/or instructions and they will unlock.
Eventually.
Step 1: Buy Champions Bundle. Note: The perks have been unlocked and buying Champions Bundle is no longer necessary.
Step 2: Equip Resistor.
Step 3: Equip Recharge.
Step 4: Equip Plasma Pistol
Step 5: Spawn into game.
Step 6: Look straight down and aim at foot.
Step 7: Press Y to swap to Plasma Pistol.
Step 8: Hold RTrigger to overcharge Plasma Pistol.
Step 9: Release RTrigger to fire overcharged bolt at your foot.
Steps 10-15: Quickly repeat Steps 8 through 9 three more times to fire a total of four Overcharged Plasma Pistol shots at your foot and to drain the Plasma Pistol.
Step 16: Collect achievement.
Alternate options exist in using a combination of PP overcharges, Frags and/or Pulse Grenades.

No idea, the list seems a little glitchy on a whole and I noticed that achievements were slow to pop and extremely slow to view while in game.

YOU MUST HAVE THE "CHAMPION BUNDLE" FOR THE ACHIEVEMENT!
--------------
The person going for the achievement MUST have
resistor and recharge on there loudout.
The person helping them with the acheivement should have a plasma pistol.
now for how to do the achievement while in game.
1 person pull out Plasma Pistol
charge it up
release the charged shot on enemy that is obtaining achievement
immediately shoot them straight after the charge shot with 4 bullets from the plasma pistol.
Let their shield recharge and the achievement should unlock.

This is the best method to unlock this one. Trying to shoot yourself at the foot with the plasma pistol is random at best and a pain after a while.

3 fully charged shots with the plasma pistol will work as well.

(At the moment) You NEED to buy the whole Champion's Bundle for this achievement. That is the only way to unlock the Resistor. Don't waste your money by only buying the Bullseye Pack like I did
The other guides work perfectly fine, except for one thing that no one specifies.
Because of what the Resistor perk is, you must be moving while you're shooting the ground underneath you with a Plasma Pistol.
So, follow the other guides for what you need Loadout-wise, then:
Spawn in with the proper loadout
Look straight down
Start walking forward
Hold in RT to Overcharge your Plasma Pistol into your feet 4 times
Keep walking until your shields recharge

As of October 9th 2015. I gravemind do not have the DLC but for this i just pop this achievement CRAZY !!!. you must drain your plasma pistol at your foot until it's completely empty. Charge it up each time and shoot it at your foot until your plasma pistol is completely empty you must charge it up 3 or 4 times. it worked for me. hope so for anyone else..
NOTE: The 360 servers for "Halo 4" were originally planned to sunset on December 18, 2021 but by the Grace of God, the shutdown date has been pushed back to January 13, 2022. That said, you should hurry up and boost the ever loving Hell out of the base game's online and the DLC achievements as soon as possible. Don't wait until the last minute, especially with the Challenger achievement!
Many of the matchmaking playlists have a minumum number of players required to get a game started so be prepared to wait a while. Considering how old this game is and that the player base was never very large to begin with, boosting may be the only way to get the online achievements nowadays.
That said, in order to get "Just a Scratch", you need to have the Resister and Recharge equipped on your loadout and you need to be damaged to where you see blood on the ground and your health meter is flashing red and beeping indicating you're close to death, and then the blue health meter bar refilling back up to full health.
Be warned though that this achievement is very buggy and is prone to glitching. It took me six matches and nearly an hour (while boosting other achievements) of heavy boosting to get it. I recommend getting into a party of eight to twelve players (or four to six actual players each with one extra dummy controller) and letting a fellow player (who's on the opposing team) shoot you with a plasma pistol until your health is damaged enough to be flashing red and then your blue health bar refill back up to full health. Because of how buggy this is, there's no guarantee it will work the first or second time. Just make sure you can communicate with your fellow boosters if you have it or not. Considering how old the game is and that it's reaching the end of it's life on January 13, 2022, this may be the only way most people will have a shot at this achievement. I attempted the 'solo' method and it didn't work for me. And this is coming from a gamer who generally isn't fond of boosting.
BE WARNED: Regardless of boosting method, the servers for "Halo 4" are notoriously unstable and are prone to disconnecting, booting players for no reason, or prone to aborting matchmaking due to unknown errors. They can even break up parties that were set up in order to boost them. Just be prepared for considerable aggravation at getting a game going on them. These servers are absolutely shit and they can go fuck themselves for all I care!

Before joining a match, make sure to equip both the Resistor and Recharge mods to any of your five loadouts. Now hop into the playlist of your choosing and play as you would normally. In order to obtain the achievement – which is by no means difficult – have one of your teammates lower your shields with a Plasma Pistol overcharge and then 4 normal Plasma Pistol shots to lower your health. When your shields recharge the achievement will unlock. If you want to work on this by yourself, you can shoot an overcharged Plasma Pistol shot your feet FOUR times to lower your shields and health. The achievement will unlock upon regaining your shields.
