How to unlock the Size is Everything achievement in Halo 4 - Definitive Guide

Note: This achievement is accumulative through different games and gametypes. It does NOT need to be completed one game.

The only map in the Crimson DLC pack that have detachable turrets is Shatter. Shatter is a fairly big symmetrical map. Gametypes on Shatter include Infinity Slayer, CTF, Extraction, and King of the Hill.

Two detachable turrets are located in the center of the map overlooking the middle platform where the Rocket Launcher spawns. There are also ramps that lead up to the turrets.

Tips:
-King of the Hill and Extraction are two ideal gametypes for getting kills with the turrets. Enemies will be moving around constantly going for the next objective.
-When in doubt, stand still. Most people will be watching their radars so it's best to wait around corners or camp around the central area of the map.
-When playing Infinity Slayer, try to get the Damage Boost or Overshield ordinance drops. They help out significantly when trying to go for turret kills.

If "center of the map" is not descriptive enough for some people; the platform above the rocket launcher that spawn at the beginning of the game.

There are turrets on top of the bases on the outside part of the map too. They are part of the extraction game type and by that I mean there are capture points in them.

The issues are concurrent with every "accumulative" achievement.
343 knows about it and are investigating the problem.
This seems to be the best thread to share in: https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst232961_Patch-Pigs-...

Anyone who has problems, would you please post specifics: whether you had gotten any achievements from the Champions Bundle prior to attempting this achievement or not. Did you buy any piece of the champions dlc? Etc.

I'm going to try and compile all situations and then post them on Halo Waypoint.

I recently created this petition to counter the issue and hopefully if we get enough signers it will grab the attention of 343i

As of 2/19/15, playing just one or two Crimson maps will automatically pop all of the Crimson DLC achievements.

After many long boosting sessions, I was finally able to unlock the DLC map pack achievements. Thanks to the servers’ instability, these achievements took a very long time, as I dealt with my connection dropping multiple times – sometimes after a few games, after one game, after simply searching for a game, or even after just entering War Games. They are absolutely TERRIBLE, by far one of the hardest achievements for me to acquire simply because of dropout. And the sad thing is that, as has been mentioned on the site here many times, you only need to complete one or two games in each map pack for ALL of the map pack's achievements to pop! Because of this server difficulty, and because I haven’t seen too much info regarding what maps are in each playlist, I thought I would share some of my experiences with you all.

- First thing I’d recommend is DON’T WAIT! The servers are supposed to shut down sometime after December 18, 2021, but don’t let that fool you. Stable games are tough to obtain here, so don’t wait until the last minute to do these. There are many good people on this fine site who are looking to get these achievements too. Join or create some sessions!

- Secondly make sure you all are on the same generation of hardware. Xbox 360 and Xbox One/Series X/S systems don’t talk to each too well and result in a LOT of disconnects. Coordinate this before you play.

- Also any extra controllers that you can use as guests come in very handy. As has been said here and also determined from the people I’ve had sessions with, the fewer systems accessing the servers the better, and could add to overall stability. Whatever amount of boosting partners you have in your sessions make sure the controller combinations you and your friends are using add up to the minimum required number. Don’t have extras as that will cause problems matchmaking. Plus you minimize the chances of random players happening upon your sessions!

- Using the chat feature on the Xbox app is a good substitute for a headset and may also contribute to stability.

- Also I haven’t noticed region affecting this much, so friends from different parts of the world playing together should be ok.

Since the DLC playlists are gone I had to find the playlists during my sessions. Here’s what I recommend:

>Crimson DLC Pack (Harvest, Shatter, Wreckage): Capture the Flag (minimum 8 people). I was able to get a Crimson map rather quickly.

>Majestic DLC Pack (Landfall, Monolith, Skyline): Team Doubles (minimum 4 people). The Skyline map came up for me rather often. I also saw Majestic maps in Capture the Flag and Team Objective regularly.

>Castle DLC Packs (Daybreak, Outcast Perdition): I was able to get this on Team Objective (minimum 8 people).

I can’t stress enough how difficult the servers are for this game, so if you want to get these achievements I’d recommend joining or creating sessions as soon as you can. I can also help you boost if I’m able to. Just drop me a message! And if you happen to disagree with anything I’m saying here, before slamming that downvote button, reach out to me and tell me why. If it’s something I can add to it I will. Good luck out there!

To operate a Mounted Machine Gun Turret, hold to operate it, then to detach it. Now kill any enemy Spartans that you see. The Turret has plenty of ammo so you should be able to get several kills within a single match. If you destroy an enemy-occupied vehicle with the turret, it will count as two kills. Take note that the Machine Gun Turrets are located on the center structure on 'Shatter' and they respawn rather quickly. The achievement is cumulative and will unlock once you have obtained your 20th kill.
