How to unlock the Skullduggery achievement in Halo 4 - Definitive Guide

I did this quite easily on the first mission, Dawn, while enabling the skulls "Cowbell", "Grunt Birthday Party" and "IWHBYD" and playing on Legendary.

Now, I know that these skulls don't really make the general play difficult and you might think they won't work for the achievement, but believe me that they do work, as I just unlocked it—much to my own surprise.

To make matters even easier, the skulls are all available from the very beginning in Halo 4.

I noticed the skulls at the bottom of the pause screen, my question is how do you activate them

You activate them at the mission select screen.

So just hit campaign on the menu, then you'll have the mission select, skulls and that stuff you can tune to your liking.

I put 3 skulls on and played the mission "dawn" on legendary I completed it and the achievement did not pop, why?

WARNING: I just found out you have to start the campaign from the beginning prologue included otherwise the mission does not count as completed, I skipped the prologue went straight into "Dawn" and it does not say I completed it on legendary.... very misleading indeed

Werid, I don't know if it changes anything but I completed those levels on Legendary before hand. I went into the first level and just had Cloud, the random one, and the birthday party skulls on. It worked for me. You just have to do the level from the start.

I got this Achievement by accident. I just enabled the same three skulls for fun and I was suprised that I unlocked this Achievement.

You don't find skulls in Halo 4, they're readily available from the get go.

So at the first chance you get to use the 'select mission' option to replay a level, you'll be able to toggle the skulls on from there.

No hunting necessary.

Didn’t pop for me doing prologue or epilogue, pretty sure you have to do an actual mission.

Skullduggery - 15G (Original Achievement)

Difficulty: 3/10

This Achievement as shown above requires you to have 3 skulls active when you clear a Campaign mission on Heroic or Legendary difficulty.

As I used this method it is confirmed that it works. You can activate the Skulls: "Cowbell", "Grunt Birthday Party", and "IWHBYD". These 3 will give no negative side effects to you and Grunt Birthday Party will actually make it easier for you to tell if you got a headshot on a Grunt.

The truly difficult part, lies in completing the mission in general. It doesn't matter what mission you choose, and to make things even easier, you can select the latest "Rally Point" in that level and skip ahead to that point. This is confirmed to work and will also be extremely useful in getting the "Lone Wolf Legend" Achievement, for those that are not veterans of Halo.

Perfect! I loaded mission 1, rally point B on Legendary and finished the and it worked. As stated, this will work for the Lone Wolf Legend achievement if you are having trouble. Thanks! smile

In this guide I show you a glitch to beat the 6th level in 5 mins. you donteven really have to fight anything. and you can put all the skulls on if you want to. This is the best and fastest level to do this achievement.

cause if your playing on easy you can beat it in under 5 mins. Im playing on legendary. So instead of this level taking 2 hours it only took 15 mins.

If you new how to read you would see that i said it can be done in 5 mins. also if you watched the whole video then your just a silly. obviously you can skip the 10 mins of cut scenes.

Being able to chop off the majority of the level definitely isn't a waste of time, especially for people like me who aren't very good at the game. This was a great help, thanks Ducky.

Campaign related. Online not required. Must be obtained on Heroic+.
Use 'Mission Select' after initial Campaign playthrough if missed. 

Skulls are now available right from the start. Complete a Mission either Solo or Cooperatively with the following Silver Skulls turned on. Mission 1 'Dawn' is a fine choice for attempting this.

  • Cowbell
  • Grunt Birthday
  • IWHBYD
