How to unlock the Setting the Stage achievement in Halo 5: Forge - Definitive Guide

** WARNING - THE ACHIEVEMENT DESCRIPTION ON THIS WEBSITE IS INCORRECT. READ BELOW **

It is very easy to get this one confused. On this website the description states "Create (a) Forge Map" - while in reality the achievement is for creating (50) forge maps - at least according to the Xbox App after I unlocked the achievement...

The best method indeed is to place a prop down and then use CTRL + D to replicate the object. If you keep an eye on the object counter you can easily tell when you have 50. Then I went in and "Saved as new" and named it. From there I just kept hitting CTRL + S.

The achievement does not appear to be "bugged" in any way. It is just that people are saving after placing 50 props on a single maps, and are not getting the achievement. Each time you save (CTRL + S) it "creates" a new map, even though it doesn't create a new map file in "Your Files".

Hopefully this helps, and hopefully the achievement description gets updated.

The line paragraph with "Each time you save (CTRL + S) it "creates" a new map, even though it doesn't create a new map file in "Your Files"." is a bit misleading - I suggest phrasing it more succinctly.

As the other guide says - add/have 50+ props in your game, press ESC & hit SAVE MAP AS and then spam the save button for 3 minutes or so; it's not necessary to add 50 props into 50 separate games.

Works as of January 2024, thank you! I've created 50+ objects with the ctrl+d method and then used "Save Map As..." 50 times with the same name!

Since the described method does not work anymore:

I created a forge map from scratch and added 50 objects. I saved that map and started to spam ctrl-s. If this method does not work, try saving the same map with a different name! This worked for me :)

This works with any map. Just make sure you add 50 props of your own; the preset props don't count towards the achievement.

For example, the map I choose already 830 props. I just bumped up the count to 880 and THEN the achievement started to track.

The save-spamming trick does work, however.

The description of this is slightly wrong.

It should be "Create 50 Forge maps with 50 or more Props." Fortunately this is quite simple and quick to do.

In Forge mode first go to the "+" icon on the upper right - "Props" - then select a small prop like a box and place it in "Boxes" and place it. Then click the object and press CTRL+D on your keyboard to duplicate the box until you have 50+ of them. There is an "objects counter" at the bottom. Once done hit CTRL+S to save the map.

Once done, hit CTRL+D to copy the object again, followed by CTRL+S to save the map. This counts as a new map. Repeat 50 times and the achievement will unlock.
