Halo 5: Guardians

Mission: Reunion, Heroic difficulty, play solo.

After you jump down and have your first encounter with the Covenant troops, go to the hidden cave on the right side. Grab Rocket Launcher and Railgun, then go back and follow the path up the hill until you see a Phantom. Fire two rockets with tracking, then finish off with a Railgun.

Hey Guys here's my achievement guide for No Witnesses, I hope it helps!

I did this on a solo run, Heroic. Apparently there’s some glitch if you try do this on co-op. The achievement doesn’t pop for everyone. They’re tips that you should use a combo of either the rocket launcher/fuel rod cannon and a precision weapon like carbine/battle riffle. I found unloading the rocket launcher into the phantom works just fine. But I think the trick is ‘sneaking’ up on it. Credit to LifeExpectancy for that tip in the walkthrough.

Follow the video for the exact location of the launcher. Either way, this is the area where there’s a phantom wreckage and a fight with the covenant. Stick to the right and climb up the ledge and about halfway up will be another ledge. Climb this and you should find the rocket launcher with a rail gun. Now continue up the ledge, sticking to the right and sneak up till you can just about see the phantom between the cliffs and get a lock-on with the rocket launcher. Get both shots in and immediately reload. You should have enough time to get a lock-on and empty your last shots before the phantom takes off. The last shot should do it and achievement should pop.

Hey everyone. My guide for the Halo 5 "No Witnesses" achievement offers a slightly different approach to the other solutions posted on this site.

Mission 7 - Reunion
Difficulty - Heroic
Solo Playthrough (Recommended)

When you get to the first group of Covenant next to what looks like a crashed Phantom clear the enemies out. Once you've done this climb up the ledge on the right (from where you entered the area) and proceed as far as the orange plant then turn around and jump up into the hidden cave where you'll find a piece of intel, a Rocket Launcher and a Railgun. Pick up the Railgun and exit the cave.

Next you need to turn left so you're facing the opposite side of the area you just cleared out, drop down and climb up the ledge shown in the video. Make sure you step up on the tiny outcrop at the base of this ledge to make sure you can actually reach up when you jump. Once on this ledge follow the path up and around to a Fuel Rod Cannon which you should also pick up. Equip the the Fuel Rod as your primary weapon and have the Railgun in reserve.

Now rather than approach from up high, drop down and proceed forward at ground level until you can just see the hovering Phantom in the distance. Unload all your Fuel Rod rounds into the Phantom before switching to the Railgun for a final shot to finish it off. This approach gives you much greater visibility of the Phantom in case you miss a couple of shots and need to hit it while it's flying away, and the Fuel Rod Cannon offers a faster rate of fire than the Rocket Launcher. Just make sure you avoid any rounds the Phantom may send back your way (I came further out of cover than I should have so I had to dodge a round). I actually missed with my final Fuel Rod shot and still brought it down using this method. You can also tell your squad to target the Phantom if doing this solo, but I'd taken it out before they even got a shot off.
