How to unlock the Look Out for the Little Guys achievement in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary - Definitive Guide

Stick in a second controller and play the level through with that, or play with a co-op partner. If your account is doing nothing at all, there's not much chance of it killing Grunts! You will want to periodically suicide with your account in the outdoor areas to prevent the account you're playing on being respawned miles back.

I can corroborate Tarvu, this method is a nice and easy way to get the Achievement.

So will you unlock the achievement if your co-op partner kills a grunt, but you don't?

A simple easy solution, although playing co-op is more fun!

@Supernova x360a: I think that is the whole point of the second controller, otherwise why would you play splitscreen?

I made it clear enough that you *cannot* complete this level without at least one player killing Grunts. It is a personal achievement.

I got it while playing with a second account that was a Silver member... I couldnt figure out how to log in as just a guest. I did all the killing with my second acount and left my main account as a spawn dummy.

Yup, that's the way to do it.

Just tried doing this on Legendary at the same time as the one without picking up a weapon. It would be damn near impossible to try and get through this mission without somebody killing grunts. Right at the beginning a whole group of them come through the doors and there is no way of running passed them without dying. Thumbs up for this solution

Great solution, I was on legendary, and the 2nd group you come access kills you instantly and blocks the way, so this was the only way that made sense

With this Method, you will also get the He's Unstoppable Achievement.

Unlocking He's Unstoppable assumes that you ARE or ARE NOT suiciding the account get this achievement? Suiciding would mean health loss, and thus voiding He's Unstoppable, no?

Also...I guess I didn't realize this until its too late...so maybe I'm the noob here, but doing co-op split screen doesn't give you the option to save & quit. If you end the game, you have to start from the beginning of the chapter again...so do it all in one sit-down. Unlike me...now have to start over redface

:Yeah, doing this in one sitdown was tiresome. LONG ASS LEVEL!!! Way too many grunts...... the end of the level, there are TONS of grunts mixed in with a wraith and hunters and elite. There is NO WAY to do this unless you can get a banshi from previous in the game. But why bother, just split screen

Credit to Master RC for this video.

This is a fantastic example of how to do this achievement solo without relying on the co-op method. I used it to get the achievement and it helped me immensely.

As Quickdraw pointed out, it's entirely possible to do this solo, and for anyone who wants to earn the achievement without using a dummy controller, I say go for it!

Fuck after finishing the mission on Legendary without picking up a new weapon, I switched to Heroic for this one and its so much easier. There are far less enemies and the sniper/rocket launcher combo is great. Grunt Funeral also helps a lot... I will get this achievement soon.

EDIT: Got it and its very much doable on Heroic following the video guide posted above. +1

Ok this one is not so bad, but at the beginning its a real pain as you only fight covenant, you may kill elites or jackals but you cannot kill a single grunt. i also took out banshees where i could to ease taking damage.

If you can get a partner it might be easier, ok once you get control take out the drones then make your way out when you do there's several grunts and drones fight try and run past them and head out. Once you open the next door outside head left and stick to the cliff wall and the building, you can slide down without taking any damage once your at the bottom there's a med pack.

Next stealing a banshee try line of sighting as much as you can towards the hole in the ground where part of the structure is from there come out and run to the banshee and take out. Next land on the platform avoiding running anything down as there is a grunt with a fuel arm up there.

Later on there's another part with just Covenant best way i found to do this is stick to the left as there's not a lot of grunts after that there's a hall with a elite and grunts with pillars use the pillars to Line of Sight them so they cant kill you.

once flood start showing it becomes so much easier, just beware of banshees they hurt and grunt fuel rods.

While there's nothing wrong with the other methods, I found this YouTube video by "Nak3dHalo" that shows how to get the banshee and get a chunk of the early grunts to spawn late, so that you can avoid them. It helped me quite a bit. Just don't make my mistake and accidentally splatter a grunt. Make sure to fly up sooner rather than later when you spawn the grunts.

Best done in co-op. TURN ON THE BANDANA SKULL, it makes life sooo much easier with infinite ammo. Just let your friend kill all the grunts; it will not void the achievement so long as YOU don't kill any. There are a lot of flood parts, so feel free to get the killing out of your system then. You can also do this achievement on legendary right away and get the achievement for not picking up any weapons, which is where the bandana skull really comes in handy.

In my video i show how to get a free banshee and make most of the enemies not spawn up and how to correct the glitch and i show if you did it wrong or not.

Fortunately, the number of Grunts on this level is fairly limited. the real trick is to let the Flood and Covenant fight it out with each other, than pass through when the fighting has finally stopped. The flood will almost always beat the covenant or at least wipe out most of the grunts before they lose. Just skip past the rest in whatever vehicle you’re using. The majority of the grunts will be encountered within the first part of the level as you escape the pyramid. Once you get past the first core and inside on the bridge, the grunts are gone until you get close to the scene where you lost the tank in "Assault on the Control Room."

On Co-op, you can have one player kill the grunts while the other player hangs back to get that profile the achievement, which makes this a little bit easier.
