The mangler (shotgun pistol, like the mauler from previous games) also works. That is what I got mine with.

Like Zam0070, I also unlocked this with the Mangler pistol. If I'm not mistaken, the Mangler and Shock Rifle are normal weapons, so they should be easier to find and pick up than the other 2, which are power weapons.

You can get this using achievement using the ravager. It's a big red gun, with a blade at the front. There's a unique animation for melee attacks with the blade, as opposed to regular melee attacks.
Simply kill one enemy with a melee attack with this weapon and you're done.

It appears the sword does not count for this. I've gotten multiple kills in multiple matches with it, and I haven't unlocked the achievement. I'll try with the ravanger next though, thanks for the suggestion.
