Halfway through mission 1 you will be required to interact with a console inside the Banished ship (
if you play with default controller settings), when you do, a cutscene will take place,
The achievement will be unlocked once the cutscene ends (you can't skip it).

So i found a fix. I hope this helps. If you were one of the unlucky people like myself, who didn’t get any of the achievements yesterday because of the overload of the servers, you need to delete your cloud save data and start from scratch. I had collected all the collectibles including the skull on level one and was not getting any achievements for them or for completing the level. No matter how many times i restarted a new save. So all you need to do is go to manage game and apps, go to saved data and delete FROM EVERYWHERE. Then proceed to start a new game. Everything should start unlocking properly. And if you’re wondering, no it does not effect your Multiplayer progress with the Battlepass. Enjoy, because this had me really pissed off that i had refused to play until it was fixed. Nothing was “retroactively” unlocking for me.

Sorry you are getting negative votes for helping before the game is out. People are salty and being little bitches because they don’t get to play right away

I didn't realize this achievement was missing, but I completed the campaign on Normal with no regard for achievements. (A very enjoyable 3 days.)
Upon completing the first section on Legendary, after the un-skippable cutscene, ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED.
P.S.: I expect it to be patched, but I played the whole campaign on Normal carrying the same gun, a glitched gun (I believe) equivalent to the Scorpion turret. Anyone else find this? It 1-shots almost all enemies, infinite ammo.

I had to delete my save as suggested above for this to pop. Shame it didn't work for the collectable achievements.
