This is now possible! (Though they still haven't added the original real gamemode)

Go to Custom Games.
Click Mode Editor and change the gamemode to Arena:Attrition which is a 343 Industries mode.

Click Mode Editor again to customize the following settings:
Sandbox
Primary Weapon - Gravity Hammer or M41 SPNKr
Infinite Ammo - On
Bottomless Clip - On
Health & Damage
Team Damage Resistance - On
Bots
Bot Count [Team 1: Eagle] - 2
Attrition
Team Respawn Count - 1
Revive Allies Action Time - 1 s

Make sure you are on Team Eagle in the top right, then start the game.

Kill both your bot teammates. Killing the first one will get rid of your team's 1 life. Revive the other one. Kill and revive that bot 2 more times and your achievement will unlock.

It might actually be deliberate...

Look at all the comments from people who just want it done and deleted. This way, they've kept the game on our consoles when most of us would have already been long gone. It could have been in the hope to keep people playing longer

Sounds like rubbish to me. By the time you’ve gotten the rest of the multiplayer achievements in "Infinite" (especially if you didn’t pay your way through the Battle Pass) you should have a pretty solid opinion on it, and you’ll know whether you want to keep playing for the heck of it until they actually add the damn mode in 2023 (it’s taken 343 months to change the radar by a couple meters in BTB, I can’t help but feel it’ll take forever for us to get anything actually substantial) or fuck off until Elimination’s added, get the achievement, and probably fuck off again. Granted, I’m not an expert in the ‘benefits to having your game installed on consoles’ department, but I fail to see how making one of the achievements unobtainable to intentionally give players a reason to keep their game on their console that isn’t ‘you like playing it’ is a good/worthwhile idea, especially considering achievement hunting’s a niche and most won’t get to the point where they only have this achievement left anyway (about only 0.6% of tracked players have every obtainable achievement in "Infinite"; a bit skewed in this case due to it not including those that have every obtainable multiplayer achievement and no campaign achievements - although the same general principle of ‘most won’t get every possible achievement’ still applies (this isn’t achievement shovelware we’re talking about) - but it’s the best I can do in this department), especially considering there is a LASO achievement, as easy in comparison as it may be.

@ gewehr. Last 5-6 months has seen a huge upshot due to apparently new hacking programs to just unlock whatever achievements you want. So almost always now when you see someone unlocking an achievement it's not the dev account it's just a hacked account

Can we really say something is unobtainable if the game technically has not been released yet? I mean, that would be like listing all of the campaign achievements as unobtainable, even though there are some like "do x amount of grappleshots" or "run over someone with a ghost" that can technically be done in multiplayer. My point is to just be a little patient. I was honestly surprised that they even allowed multiplayer achievements to be unlocked with the "beta". The game is only a few days out.

Sometimes things labelled unobtainable/discontinued are only temporary. The Overwatch seasonal achievements always got labelled discontinued during the rest of the year when you couldn't get em for example

No, that's not what is being assumed. Unobtainable just means that there is currently no way to unlock the achievement and never has been. It would only be temporary anyway, you just remove the flag once it's added

Considering 343 said there’ll be no new maps and modes on the 8th, I would say yes, at least in this case. I think the important thing to note is that the campaign is not out so listing those achievements as Unobtainable is just dumb. Multiplayer, by contrast, is out.

@chifiagoodluck this logic baffles me. Beta means they havent finished nailing down the systems and that bugs are still likely than not. it means its still in active dev (and it is considering the season pass changes) They would call this a Release Candidate if it werent in beta.

Talking about requirements, when it will come out,
If it's like h5 elimination + you can revive your teammates like h5 campaingn, then we have to hope the text " Revived 3 allies in an Elimination round in a matchmade game. " is correct so we can use a 2° dummy account kill him on purpose and reviving him 3 times in a single round or boosting it easily in a 4 player lobby with a easy TA session , else if the text is not correct there's a possibility that we have to revive all the teammates singularly at least once or at the same time or try to get a specific medal like the chain reaction achievement.

Nope, they modded the achievement. It's been a few months now that it's been possible to cheat Xbox One/Series X achievements sadly.

I believe the person's GT isn't showing up when you click on tracked gamers because they've already been reported, and it's being investigated.

Just a head up, there will apparently be a big update in February fixing a bunch of issues, hopefully that is when this game mode will be out. If not then it will most likely be released at Season 2 which is in May.

Attrition is a different gametype from Elimination. Hopefully that means Elimination pops up too tho, or these revives work on accident. (Both have previously been seen to be available in custom games when launching the game offline or whatever previously)

^ As long as you earn it legitimately, there's no cause for concern. It means other people will be able to do so as well so the flagging will be changed pretty quickly after.

I think the game mode is attrition and “elimination round” refers to the fact that the teams are tied and this is the last round. So you’d need to revive three people once you get into an elimination round

So I have theory about when the elimination event actually shows up. There is a medal that can be won in attrition called necromancer. I just got it today, and it's for reviving all three different members of the squad in 1 round. This may have to be what you do when the time comes, but just a theory.

It is flagged as unobtainable dawg. Also, Sybarite aint even flagged as unobtainable. It has a Partly Discontinued flag because they stopped swapping events (it's basically Discontinued but someone can technically have all but the last event that is permanently going on).

Also, more people were definitely asking for Swat than Eliminations.

As much as i dislike this Halo and also that this gamemode is missing, I swear a decent chunk of yinz just don't read before getting mad. (Also, because it says to get 3 revives in an Elimination round, not an Attrition round. Though thinking it's the "elimination round" of an Attrition game is at least a little understandable if you missed all the people saying it's not it)

Weird that all it says is “Elimination round” not Elimination mode or Elimination round in Elimination. I just earned “Ace” playing Attrition which is “Wipe an enemy team in an Elimination round”

According to the game, the Necromancer medal is obtained for reviving every ally (all 3 at least once) in ONE round in an ELIMINATION round. The achievement doesn't unlock upon getting the Necromancer medal, which has the same unlock criteria as the achievement. Therefore, the achievement is unobtainable because it is glitched. 343 need to fix it.

It's not glitched, the devs themselves said a mode literally called Elimination is coming. Attrition is not Elimination.

I really don't understand the confusion. Attrition and Elimination are different modes, and the devs confirmed this achievement was not obtainable in Attrition.

That said, this will probably be super easy to get once Elimination is added. From what's been found on Reddit, through offline gameplay, it plays similarly to Attrition, but there is no pool of lives. So it's basically Team Slayer with 1 life.

If you're in a group, just have your teammates suicide at spawn and revive them before the enemy rushes you. Should be quick once the mode comes!

I will accept the Devs saying there will be an Elimination mode, but the in game medals do count Attrition as an Elimination round. I have had the Lone Wolf and Duelist medals in an Attrition game, which both reference an 'Elimination round'. The wording on either the medals or the achievment are wrong

Wording on this achievement is almost identical to the 'Ace" medal. I think this achievement was *supposed* to work in this mode, but for whatever reason it's broken.
Because the Ace medal works - maybe they just said it's not meant to unlock in Attrition while they go fix it before releasing Elimination gametype.

If an achievement is unobtainable, and you state that fact along with why its unobtainable, you should NOT be downvoted (assuming you promptly update the guide once the achievement is fixed).

Forcing you to add filler which may in fact be incorrect (you don't know it works unless you try it or have seen another do it) is actually the completely wrong way of posting guides. Guides should be repeatable and factual, not conjecture.

The community failed you on this.

Yeah, other than the Battle Pass, you can get every other online achievement in 15-20 hours. Yinz are close but not all the way there. They didn't leave the achievement unobtainable to keep achievement hunters coming back, they left the game mode out of the game to keep people coming back and just disregarded the achievement in general knowing they would add it eventually.

The thing that makes me laugh at that is that in 4 months, we have gotten Fiesta, Attrition, SWAT variants, and that’s it. 343 didn’t/don’t seem to be aware with how often a good live service game (and by that I mean good at player retention) should get updated; "Fortnite" gets updated every week. I don’t expect 343 to update at that rate, but I also wouldn’t expect them to only add (in terms of content) 2 modes and a bunch of variants for another mode in 4 months.

Someone said it earlier in this thread but it really is crazy how they can have over 1k gamerscore by classifying “halo infinite” as the multiplayer and then campaign as dlc and still could put out an unobtainable. Not to mention the amount of people, myself included, that didn’t get the battle tested achievement after reaching level 100. It’s crazy to see this from a first party Microsoft studio, even most multiplat games would have updated to fix these things by now.

**One small thing I found out though. It doesn't seem to work if you set the server to LOCAL OFFLINE. Just leave it on XBOX LIVE.
Also, if you do change the server you have to reset all the settings you changed EVEN if they say they are right. They all need changed to something else and back again.

While you may experience some bumps and bugs during this beta period, it does mark the official start of Halo Infinite Season 1, with all day-one maps and modes enabled as well as the full Season 1 Battle Pass.

I’m just not sure of the thought process of 343. They add in a new game mode, attrition. But it’s not the game mode that they’re going to add in the future, elimination. It seems like elimination and attrition will be very similar game modes. If they were going to add in another game type that wasn’t elimination, why not king of the hill, Grifball, multiteam, regicide, etc.

What finally allowed me to get the achievement:

I had to set health to 10%, shields to 0%, and team damage ratio to 10%. That finally allowed me to start damaging my teammate bots.

Also, no matter what I did I couldn’t get infinite ammo. Is the game glitched or something? I wouldn’t be surprised.

The only way for me to have more than a normal amount of Spanker ammo is to set beginning/default ammo to 200. That allowed me to have sizeable ammunition. Even with infinite ammo / bottomless clips turned on, I could never actually get my Spanker to have infinite ammo.

This is unlockable as of May 3, 2022 in Custom Games and can be done solo with bots by killing and reviving teammates with friendly fire.

The achievement description has changed to "Revive 3 allies in an Attrition/Elimination round in matchmaking or custom game"

Go to Custom Games
Choose Arena: Attrition in the 343 Industries mode selection tab
Add up to 8 bots only to Eagle team in the Bots tab (Only 1 bot is necessary)
Change primary weapon to M41 SPNKr in the Sandbox tab
Turn on "Team Damage Resistance" under the Health & Damage tab for friendly fire
Change "Team Respawn Count" under the Attrition tab to 1.
Change "Revive Allies Action Time" under the Attrition tab to 1s.
Load up the gametype on any map then kill and revive 3 teammates in one round.

Worth noting - for Attrition, you can start reviving after your team runs out of respawns. This is why setting "team respawn count" to 1 is recommended. Betray your bot teammates until orbs start appearing above their bodies. Stand on the orbs and hold 'X' to revive.

This is by far the easiest and fastest way to get it done. Maybe the only thing I'd add is to turn on infinite ammo & bottomless clip. Then you can kill one teammate and just camp their revive point as all the other bots come running to revive it -- a little easier than trying to chase your teammates all over the map. :)

Just unlocked this and can confirm that this indeed works if you have 2 controllers on attrition in CUSTOM GAMES.
This is likely easier to do in custom games as you have to run out of lives first before you can revive anyone.

I picked Arena: Attrition on Bazaar, committed seppuku with my 2nd controller, and ran out of lives enabling me to revive the 2nd player.
After 3 revives, the achievement is yours.
