I can confirm that the BR works I was able to get this achievement in ranked
after punching someone in the back who had a BR. It might be easier in ranked as you can sneak up with no radar and everyone having a scoped weapon

I just unlocked this after back smacking someone who was using the Sidekick pistol. Perhaps they just need to be scoped in with any weapon? Or perhaps the Sidekick is classed as a scoped weapon despite it not having a physical scope?

I can provide the clip I recorded after unlocking the achievement, but it won't have the pop-up because I did it through DVR, so you'd had to take my word for it.

You’d figure an achievement this common wouldn’t take until the last couple achievements to get. No lol.

I swear I have the worst luck with this one. I've done 30+ backsmacks now and not one of them were zoomed in.

How can I do this against bots? I did several kills from behind every match but I guess they never zoom while shooting?

Does anyone know if it can be boosted in Custom games?

PSA: I’ve back smacked 50+ bots and never got it. I believe bots do not zoom in.

I just unlocked it tonight while playing today's newly added PvP Fiesta playlist on the map Aquarius. As I left the spawn at the start of the match and went right, I could see the opposing team kinda huddled together in the mirroring doorway across the map looking over scoped in (could see the glinting). I took this as my chance and flanked, hoping my team didn't kill them before I got there. When I showed up, I dropped down into the unsuspecting preoccupied enemy group and backsmacked a player with a BR and it popped. I was sooooo happy! Finally! :D

I would advise people to play the new Swat mode, no mini map/Radar. Hide in a corner and wait. Still luck based but if you play on a map with good sight lines you'll likely catch them zoomed when you back smack them.

I agree with the previous post. The new SWAT, now called Tactical Slayer, has a lot of opportunities for this. I played 4 matches in a row and I think I bashed a scoping enemy in each one.

Does someone wants to try it in custom ? This is one of my last achievements and I can't seem to get lucky.

Nah, you don’t suck, this was one of the last MP achievements I got, was a deceptive bastard.

FINALLY got it! What worked for me was tactical slayer on streets. Wait in a corner and hope for the best.

I think Tactical Slayer is the way to go.

You have to be playing against braindead morons to get this. I swear I've almost NEVER even seen someones back, let alone someone's back while they are zoomed in. Stupid ach is stupid.

This is the last multiplayer achievement I got and it caused me a lot of grief. Today (12/6/2022), Ranked FFA was added to the playlists and I got it on my first game of that. The mix of starting with BRs and no radar, plus the FFA aspect of everyone running around like crazy gave me a lot of opportunities.

I have been trying for the longest time to get this and I have back smacked many people in ranked and tactical slayer and I just won't pop. I don't think it works with any weapon zoomed in because I have done it multiple times and still no cheevo. I am just unlucky?

I've unlocked it yesterday during a Tactical Slayer BR-only game, so yeah, you might be unlucky and the players you're back smacking just aren't zoomed in.
It took me like 15 back smacks in this mode, so try again, you'll get it!

I'm not definitively sure, but it might be possible that it counts if they are scoped in with a Battle Rifle or Commando (or other similar weapons). I wasn't able to tell but it didn't seem like the dude I got this off of had a sniper. Could be wrong, but it might be worth trying even if the enemy doesn't have a sniper (still sneaking so they have a higher chance of being scoped in)

Try playing it in ranked, every one has a battle rifle and no radar. Look for players holding an angle at distance and flank them. Many people are very dependent on radar and most console players are not using a headset, making foot steps very difficult to hear.

I got the achievement and multiple subsequent "backsmacks" in one round.

Yeah this achievement sounds simple but in my experience is very difficult to get in regular play. This solution is what ultimately worked for me; I found playing Tactical Slayer to not be worth it because only a couple maps really support getting backsmacks (too open, too circular, etc) and you make a lot of noise even when walking. Trying to crouch walk around doesn't really work either in my experience.

Deadlock was the map that worked best for the camo strategy IMO. There are 2 camo spawns; one near each base. One is near the little sniper tower, and the other is on the opposite side near the entrance to the cave. There are lots of people running around on gametypes like Stockpile so if you see a group in the middle one of them likely is looking through their sights. Snipers are very reachable on this map too.
