How to unlock the Skyhook Shot achievement in Halo Infinite - Definitive Guide
I've got another strategy to add to the already existing guides:
General info:at the moment the achievement can only be obtained by using your grappling hook on a wasp - banshees won't give you the achievement. They changed that in a recent update. This achievement is now also obtainable by grappling onto a banshee.
Map: highpower (big team battle playlist) - stockpile (not sure if important) - eagle team spawn side (it's possible to do from cobra team's spawn but requires a lot more luck)
Right after the game starts exit the base on the left side and follow that path until you reach some sort of hole in the ground. Loop around the hole on the left side - jump a little gap and enter the corridor next to the bulldog/heatwave spawn. You'll find the grapplehook a couple of steps into the corridor - pick it up and keep going. Upon exiting the corridor you'll find the active camo upgrade - swap it for your grapplehook, activate the camo and remember to pick up the grapplehook again. Keep following the path and spot the enemy team's landing pad on the left side of their base. There is a container next to it and behind that container is a little ledge in the cliff that you can stand on - that's where you're going to hide (make sure to switch weapon and look around from time to time or you might be booted for inactivity). Now sit there crouched until the wasp spawns around the 13 minute mark - wait for someone to jump in then grapple it right away for your achievement.
IMPORTANT: you only need to press the button to use your equipment ( for standard controls), the boarding animation happens automatically. In fact if you shoot while grappling you will cancel the animation. *thanks to 'exactor it' for reminding me to add this in the comments
Note: the active camo spawn can be an overshield spawn in some matches - I don't know if it's gamemode based or completely random - fyi I had the camo spawn playing a stockpile match.
2nd Note: if you're spawning on cobra team's side then the active camo will most likely run out before you reach your hiding spot - if you manage to reach the spot though you're far less likely to be spotted. There is a container to the left of eagle team's landing pad - you can hide there with the wasp in sight
Good luck!

This is exactly how I did it, sat next to their wasp in hiding and grapplejacked the second an enemy got in it.

Wish I could give you more thumbs up, was struggling to get the other solutions to work but got it this way first time. As an added bonus the poor guy on the receiving end was fuming, so happy to have got his Wasp only for it to be taken away moments later

I am not good at making guides nor am I good at explanation but I was getting frustrated on trying to do this until I found a way that can makes things a bit easier. What I did was first grab the grappling hook, wait till the Wasp to spawn on my side of a BTB game and grab it right away. I wait until I see the enemy have their flying vehicle and then I flight straight to them. They will most likely be shooting you so go above him, get out of your flying vehicle and then use your grappling hook on his vehicle. I hope this helps someone cause this was super frustrating for me.
Edit: So you have to hijack a Wasp to get the achievement. If you hijack a banshee then it won’t count. Didn’t know this when I wrote the guide so my deepest apologies.
EDIT 2: The map is Highpower, there is a grappling hook that always spawns through the tunnel on either the left or right side of the map depending on which side you start on. There is a lift that takes you to a high point in the middle of the map. Next to the high point there is a ledge you can jump on. Go through the little doorway that leads you through the tunnel. The grappling hook should be on your left. The Wasp always spawns near the team base.

This worked for me first try. CTF on Highpower, got the grappleshot and waited for the wasp to spawn. Hopped in and flew over to the enemy base straight away. Lucky the other wasp was slightly distracted and I came in from above. Simply jumped out and grappled on, just held down the button and the achievement unlocked straight away.

Dang I’m sorry, I’ll put that into the solution.

My buddy and I were both able to get this after I proposed the idea of just waiting out the opponent's Wasp spawn. Videos of our attempts are included below.
REQUIREMENTS:
MAP: Highpower (this is available in Big Team Battle)
OBJECTIVE: Anything works, but Slayer may be the hardest to get this with
TEAM: You want to be on the team that has the lower cliff-side spawn.
POWER-UPS: Grapple Shot
DESCRIPTION/GUIDE:
The idea is, once you spawn in, make a bee-line to one of the Grapple Shot spawns. (Location Screenshots Below)
If you missed out on the one at your base, you can either go for the other spawn, or just wait for the first one to respawn. Sooner is definitely better than later for this, as later could involve having to divide attention between getting the pick-up and fending off your opponents.
Once you have the Grapple Shot, get yourself over to the other side of the map to the hiding spot.
This is best done with a vehicle. I honestly prefer the mongoose. While you don't really have any defenses, you're less likely to get a lot of attention. Having a friend to ride with you helps as well, as they can act as a distraction while you hop off and get into the hiding spot.
Once hiding, be sure to crouch down, so that any movement you make isn't picked up on your opponents' radars.
Be sure to remember what button you have your ability set to, the default is .
The average Big Team Battle on this map has 3 opportunities for the Wasp to spawn.
You just need to wait for one of these, and hope an opponent sees it and wants to hop in sooner than later.
As soon as they hop in, with your crosshairs pointed at the wasp, hit your ability button and take it from them.

DISCLAIMER:
As more and more people happen upon this solution, the harder this is going to get, as there will be players that check behind the boxes before boarding the Wasp.
This may also be something that 343i will want to dissuade/fix and they may block off this hiding spot.
This solution requires camping and not adequately supporting your team, so others may frown upon you for doing this, but this is just simply a method I thought up and wanted to share. I fully apologize for anyone who is a victim of this solution, I'd be pissed if it happened to me.

Big Team Battle mode or Behemoth map in Quick Play/Ranked playlists.
If you look just to the right of your minimap in game it will tell you where you are in the level. The capitilized locations I've notated below are actual spots in the map, so keep looking around (or marking spots using until you find the spot I mention.
Grappleshot locations:
Deadlock - in the Cave
Fragmentation - basement of Canyon Base & Cliff Base, 3rd/4th spawn at Wreckage & Broken Ring (each of those is on either side of the Center Passage)
Highpower - far bottom left of Tower Base on the rock path, 2nd spawn at Overlook directly in front of Waterfall Base, 3rd spawn is up high in Cave which is mid-left from Waterfall Base/mid-right from Tower Base
Behemoth - heading into the basement of North and South Base
Wait until you see an enemy in a flying vehicle (FYI, may only work on Wasps, not Banshees). The Grappleshot has a limited range so it may be best to get on a cliff/hill and wait for the vehicle to get close.
With default controls, press to zoom to it and hop in to boot them out.
You could also hop in your own flying vehicle, wait until you see an enemy in one, then fly above them, hop out of yours, and grapplejack theirs.

At the time of writing this, there is a way of getting this achievement that I find easier than other methods. If you play Fiesta, there is always a random chance you will spawn with a grappling hook, and you will have a much higher chance of finding one from other dead players. Both of the maps Launch Site and Behemoth can spawn flying vehicles. The maps are smaller which should increase your chances of being able to grapple, and I find the games go by quicker than Big Team Battle.

Just got it in Fiesta first try. Get it while you can!

Think this solution is being overlooked tbh. With Fiesta now a permanent playlist, it'll be far easier to get this there than BTB imo. Smaller teams/maps, still working on mine but Live Fire seems better than the sand map because it's got lower ceilings.

To unlock this achievement, start a BIG TEAM BATTLE game, get a grappling hook, and use it to capture an enemy flying vehicle. The Highpower map is particularly suited to achieve this. Be careful, the grappling hook has a very limited range, wait until you are close enough to the enemy before attacking. Here is a video to help you.
To get this Achievement you must Grapplejack an enemy Wasp aircraft.
A Grapplejack is when you board any vehicle using the grappling hook.
Grapplejacking a Banshee does not work for this Achievement, which is why I said earlier to focus on Wasps & this Achievement can be unlocked in a Big Team Battle “BTB” match.

While you can do this on a variety of maps, I found this to be easiest on Dead Lock as the Grapple always spawns in the cave and there are a ton of vehicles on the map.
I simply put a few rounds towards the enemy banshee to bait it to get close to me and then used the grapple to highjack the enemy vehicle.
