How to unlock the You Ate All the Chips achievement in Halo: Reach - Definitive Guide

EDIT: Thanks to TheDarKnyht for this information - "To everybody still hunting this achievement, Stockpile as of Oct 4th 2011 is back on the playlist for Team Objective. I managed to get this on the first try thanks to two people dropping from the other team."

This is much easier to do boosting, but all you have to do is collect all the flags on the map during one "round." Most maps have four flags, I believe. So basically, you have to capture the four flags at the same time. If you don't want to boost, get a good team together and communicate! You need people to get flags (I recommend two people working together, one to carry and one to defend) and people to defend flags once you get them back to your capture location. I suggest you place all the flags outside the capture location in case you do not get all four (or however many are on the map) before the countdown hits zero and starts over.

It is a team effort, so everyone can capture the flags. Once all four are capture, the entire team will unlock the achievement.

This achievement is NOT to capture all the flags that spawn on the map for the entire game of Stockpile (aka you do not need to win a game 10 to 0).

I love that mine has 5 down votes while the other solution has none. Both solutions say the exact same thing. Mine was first, though.

Of course both solutions are going to say the same thing.. they're a solution for the same achievement...

It could be the fact that mine is more adamant regarding what needs to be done and what does not need to be done, and how strategies are clearly explained and the solution is "confident", as in, I'm 100% positive in all of the information I got in that solution. No "it should work"s or "i think"s

Also, people generally vote down not because the solution doesn't help with the achievement, but because there is one that helps slightly better. Which should in reality the solution that stays on the top of the list cause there's no sense putting a bunch of solutions that "kind of" explain it. A single, "Correct" solution is all that is needed for each achievement.

.. long comment, hope I helped explain a few things.

Your comment is not needed. 1) I never used "I think" or "it should work" in my explanation. 2) We say the exact same information. There is nothing in yours that is more helpful than what is in mine. 3) I am 100% of the information in the solution except for if there are 4 flags on EVERY map. 4) Your comment makes you sound like an ass (aka "Mine solution is *better* than yours").

Alrighty. I'll leave a nice, generic comment that pretends this solution is actually better, while the "20-10" votes stare me in the face.

you can do that too i suppose...

@4)
If solution WASN'T better than yours, it wouldn't be higher on the list than yours.

SadBloke is correct. You can do it on any map. DLC or non-DLC. However, you need the DLC to be able to unlock the achievement.

@xhunterrrr thanks mate for the solution, made it easier to understand what I needed to do even though I inadvertently popped this without trying. Thumbs up regardless due to the straightforward explanation which is what I think this site is all about. Now I need that blasted "Totally Worth It" achievement... guh.

I found "Totally Worth It" to be quite easy. I did it playing Slayer on Sword Base, 'cause on Sword Base there is usually ALWAYS someone taking the sword and heading for the liftroom. And players tend to gather up in that liftroom. So just watch your radar and go up the lift . Throw a sticky the second you get out of the lift, and they will sword you down. BOOM!

The achievement will pop quite easily as long as there's not a ton of people with Armor Lock in that room. :)

I used your solution. My team mates were angry cuz I had to pull some out of the score zone to get them all, lol. But, I did get lucky because two of the other team's players quit. I'm just glad it's done...now I can move on to having fun in the game again.

EDIT: According to TheDarKnyht, as of the October 2011 update Stockpile has been returned to the Team Objective Gametype and will now hopefully be easier. Good Luck! :)

This achievement was made difficult by Bungies removal of the stockpile playlist and the removal of the gametype, from DLC objective and team objective as well as flagstravaganza.

This gametype can only be found in Big Team Battle and Team SWAT (as of 8 July 2011) may change over time. This achievement CAN'T be unlocked in speedpile in action sack, it must be the original gametype.

You have to capture all the flags on the map at once, the capture zones reset every 60 seconds I believe so you need to bring all the flags into the circle within that time for them to all be captured at the same time. Any member of you team can bring them into the circle and the whole team will get the achievement.

To do Legit- Enter Big team Battle or Swat with a team or if you want to try and wing it. co-operate and keep all the flags near your base, steal if you have to form the other team's capture zone.

To boost- The stockpile gametype is very rare now. It only appears in Big Team Battle and Team SWAT. So to boost gather a team of 8 players (you can sign in guests, however they must get a few kills other wise you will banned for AFK boosting) play Team Swat and vote none of the above in an attempt to get SWAT STOCKPILE if you don't get it, play the game normally assuring all controllers get kills, then hope for it next voting round.
When you finally get SWAT Stockpile talk accross xbox live party to have one group run all the flags into their capture zone, other team does nothing. Flags capture then the other team moves all 4 flags into their zone and gets the achievement.

Goodluck,
AW

I hate how in order to get this achievement you have to game the system. Seems like someone at Bungie doesn't like the stockpile gametype.

Are you sure Stockpile is still a part of the SWAT and Big Team Battle playlists? I've been playing BTB for about 20 rounds and SWAT (<3) over 50 times this week while going for the weekly challenge of 50 wins, but I still haven't even seen any Stockpile modes, even if we get an additional voting round most of time.

The section of bungies site that showed exactly which gametypes are in which playlist is down. Due to maintenance idk? I only ever saw SWAT Stockpile twice and my most played gametypes are SWAT and Snipers. I think it's still there just an upsettingly low percentage :(

I can confirm that Stockpile is in fact part of the SWAT playlist, but it seems to be incredibly rare. I've only seen it once at all, and I was the only one who voted for it. It kind of sucks that I still have to actually complete the requirements when I finally get the mode. I'm starting to believe I will hit Lt. Colonel before getting this.

I got this on Anchor 9.

The best strategy seems to be to grab the flags, DON'T drop them, wait near the score zone, close to the exit to space, until your team has 3 of the 4 flags.

As the map pack playlist is 6 a side, unless all 6 of the opposing players go for the one flag, your remaining 3 players should have no problem grabbing the last flag and getting it back to base, once the 4th flag is there, drop all 4 flags in the score zone, and defend the flags until the timer runs down.

If the opponent has any flags in their score zone, do nothing, wait for them to score and reset, grab the now returned flags and run, even if you lose the game, and only steal one flag per scoring window, you should get the achievement easily.

With the new playlists forn Oct 2011, boost in a party of 8 on Team Objective.

The STOCKPILE variant was quick to find and the boosting took five minutes.

FINALLY I have this pesky one checked off ;-)

[EDIT]:
You can use guest profiles - up to 3 gusts per XBOX. This helps making the boosting a lot easier. We did it with 5 live players and 3 guests.
Just be sure that if you wind up stuck playing some other team objective game before you get to STOCKPILE that you remember to use the guest controllers as often as you use you 'actual live' controller to avoid any banhammering.

As of 8-10-15 i unlocked this achievement on the "Team Objective" playlist. The achievement description is not clear on this but the goal is to capture 4 flags at once.By at once I mean 4 flags captured exactly at the same time when the countdown ends. I managed to unlock this in a regular non boosting game due to my good team mates and communication. It is best to do this boosting though. Either set up a session on TA or get some friends together who have extra controllers(best set up: 4 people, each with 2nd controller).YOU DO NOT HAVE TO OWN THE ACTUAL DLC. From what I've heard around it is possible to unlock all noble and defiant achievements EXCEPT the 13 point one for breakpoint(you have to have to dlc to play the breakpoint map). Also you MUST OWN Anniversary DLC to get their achievements. Below is a video guide of the achievement and it happens to be on the map I unlocked it on. Shout out to Filipe[pt] for the video.

I got this achievement while playing multi-flag in space station map on the defiant dlc. I was dead at the time. So, even though it say YOU have to get the flags, after getting the achievement it says that your TEAM needs to capture all the flags.
16
3

This achievement can only be unlocked in Matchmaking within any competitive playlist that contains the Stockpile gametype. To earn this achievement, your team must collect all 4 flags on the map and place them within your own capture point at the same time. In other words, before the timer for flag captures reaches zero, all the flags on the map must be within the capture point. If successful, the whole team gets the achievement. This is arguably the hardest achievement within the map pack, so unless you have a good team, it would probably be best to boost this achievement (you can ask for help through the Achievement Trading Thread here). This achievement can be done on any map.
