How to unlock the Revel in Destruction achievement in Halo Wars 2 - Definitive Guide

This achievement, as well as "Cataclysmic," can be boosted quickly in a Skirmish match against the AI on Easy. If you're taking this route, head into the Skirmish lobby and make these setting changes:

  • Map: Mirage or Sentry
  • Gametype: Strongholds
  • Unit Ability Cooldown: 200%
  • Fog of War: Off
  • Skulls: Pain train, Bountiful Harvest, & Emperor

Now choose Voridus as your leader and begin the match (AI leader does not matter). Once the match starts, because Fog of War is turned off and you have access to the entire map, begin building mini-bases on every available plot of land. Next, use the War Council at your HQ to deploy Vordius onto the battlefield. When he's ready to command, move him across the map and position him just in front of the enemy's HQ. Now use the Leader ability "Voridus Pack Assault II" and call it in near Voridus himself. This Leader ability will deploy a Blisterpack (that, because of the passive Infusion Tech Leader ability, shoots Infused rounds), a Wraith, and an Infused Engineer that can shoot a single Infused gel shot at the ground by using its special ability (). All of this, coupled with Voridus' own special ability that allows him to spread Infusion on the ground (and wherever he moves) by use of his Gravity Hammer, means you can coat the entire front entrance of the enemy's HQ in Infusion. What's more, and probably most effective, is that you can even use "Infusion Wake III," another Leader ability, to spread more Infused gel around the enemy's base and front entrance.

When the Leader ability "Cataclysm" is ready to use, activate it. This will cause all infused areas on the map to ignite and deal extra damage to enemies. It typically kills enemies pretty quickly, and it even causes damage to building structures, too. Since you are positioned right in front of the enemy's HQ, any units that are deployed will step right into the cataclysmic gel and die.

During this time, you should also be activating the Leader ability called "Invigorating Frenzy," which will activate a healing zone on infused areas around the map, buffering your own units. The cooldown for both abilities is fairly long (especially Cataclysm), so some patience is required when working on these two achievements.

Once you have killed fifty units with Cataclysm, "Cataclysmic" will unlock. Similarly, "Revel in Destruction" will unlock once Invigorating Frenzy has been activated fifty times.
