Halo Wars

This one's REALLY easy. To "Hot drop" a squad, means to simply have them sent through the Gravity Lift directly to your leader.

So go to "Skirmish" in the Main Menu. Then select:
-Players: 1v1
-Map: Barrens (1v1)
-Mode: Standard
-Difficulty: Easy

Choose the Prophet of Regret for yourself and pick anyone else (for your opponent), it really doesn't matter.

Now once the game starts build a Temple and then two supply pads. Next build up two Halls. Now scroll to the Gravity Lift in the front of your Keep, double click on the Left Stick over it and now whenever units spawn, they will go directly towards this location and be "Hot Dropped" to you. So queue up Jackals to be built, they are the cheapest and easiest to kill with your Prophet's beam. Just build as many as you can until you hit the 40 cap limit, if you want to achieve this one faster, you could also go take out other bases and build Warehouses, it's up to you. Now once you're at your limit, you'll want to use the Prophet's beam on them (poor little guys). To use this, simply point where you want it to hit, make sure you're in range, and press the "Y" button. Kill 10 units and you'll be able to build 10 more. as soon as the last one is trained and comes through the Grav. Lift, you'll have one of the four new Achievements that accompany the new Map Pack for Halo Wars.

Well here is how i did it...since the achievement doesn´t say that you have to hot drop 50 different squads i built just 10 jackals (they are cheap)...put my leader (anyone) just a bit far from the teleporter and separetad from the group of jackals so i could pick them all in a row with my A button without picking the leader together. I sent this same group of 10...5 times in the teleporter...i got my achievement way faster then waiting to built 40 that it seems to be the limit of the army...forcing me to kill 10 and making me built them all over again. So yes you have to buy the historical battle dlc to play in the Barrens map and assuming that at this point everyone already knows how to play the game and that the required configuration of the match has been well said before my solution i will talk only about this info that i think it is what really matters.

This achieve is really easy.
1. go to deathmatch on barrens(1v1)
2. pick any covie leader
3. build temple and 2 halls
4. build fifteen jackals
5. move you leader near the grav lift.
6. keep sending the same units thru until the achieve pops

P.S. You do not need to kill the units

Start out with any Covenant Leader on easy. first make your temple, one hall, and the rest supply pads. when your leader is out send him to the back of you base. after that send all your units through the transporter over and over again until you get it. make only jackals cuz they are cheep.
