Gold tokens are given if you fulfill additional conditions in the mission, which are almost always indicated at the top right. Often much more difficult than normal completion of the level. At some levels there are no additional tasks and you will receive a token for completing it. Sometimes it is not directly stated what needs to be done to receive a token, but it is always obvious. But there are still 2 levels where the method of obtaining gold is a big mystery. The first is the Devil test. It may seem impossible, but I have found 1 way to pass it. To do this, use the “Walk through the Desert” map. Its peculiarity is that it fills the entire free field with desert cards, which you can walk on, and it is along it that you can get to the exit and get a token. The main thing is not to forget to give the finished potion to the man in the cloak. The problem is that this card needs to appear in the last of the 4 locations. But they are small and without battles, so you won’t have to replay for too long until you’re lucky. And the second problem is on mission 21. The peculiarity there is that in order for the companions to survive, they all must be platinum, and then if you choose the right companion for each transition from the map, he will not die but will continue on his way.
