How to unlock the Grifter achievement in Hand of Fate 2 - Definitive Guide

The easiest location to do this that I have found is on The Sun challenge.

On the second map, trying to escape from the Prison Mage encounter has a Huge Success. If you load your decks with wheel assist cards it is rather easy to choose, hit A when the huge success is around the 9 o'clock mark and it should land on it.

If you fail to get the Huge Success, press menu, then Switch User and continue your game to have another shot.

Unfortunately the game doesn't register the Huge Success until you full complete the encounter, so you cannot use the switch trick to quickly get the 10 huge successes, you will have to rerun the challenge. You can forfeit and restart the challenge after you have fully completed the encounter.

I believe the update Sakori referred to has happened.

If you're playing "The Chariot" challenge, the second level will have two instances of "Plague". Choose "escape" and you'll have a chance at a wheel with Huge Success.

I don't know if you need to complete the encounter for the Huge Success to register. I did so each time to be safe, but my achievement popped when I hit the 10th Huge Success, and prior to me fully completing the encounter.

Grifter's Companion (Platinum card) can help when going for this achievement. It allows you to nudge the wheel in either direction if you didn't land on the card you wanted to. Dead King Scales is a heavy armour that allows you to duplicate the Huge Success card within the wheel, for a greater chance of landing on it.

this solution needs to be edited as the notion you need to complete an encounter prior to it registering is false.

to conirm this simply open the xbox achievement tracker and it will increase the instant you land on success and go to the next dialogue.

as such you can gear yourself up with a bunch of aiding equipment find a huge success encounter score a huge success then hard close the game reopen it and do it again saving tons of time.

i will gladly change my neg once its edited as i ended up wasting some time assuming it was true also noting field of fae and the plague encounter would be good.

I can confirm what Cuthred posted. The first time I hit the Huge Success in the Prison Mage encounter, the achievement progress counter updated, showing 10% completed. I quit and reloaded without completing the encounter, replayed the encounter, hit Huge Success, but not once on the next 4 subsequent times did the counter register getting the Huge Success. I finally just forfeited out to try again. But next time I played the full level and got it, it registered.

Worth noting that once the xbox gets the next update, two existing deck cards will get huge success wheels added to them.

The two that get them are: Plague (run away) and fields of fae

The best way to get this is to equip an encounter card with a Huge Success wheel gambit.

For example:
  • Plague (from The Chariot, Silver)
  • Mystical Island (from The Tower, Silver)
(You should have patch version 1.0.14 to ensure they have Huge Success.)

The following equipment bonuses can assist:
  • Dead King Scales - Duplicate Card: Optionally, duplicate a card in each Wheel Gambit.
  • Felvin's Favour - Remove Card: Optionally, remove a Card from each Wheel Gambit.
  • Grifter's Companion - Wheel Nudge: Optionally, nudge the result onto the next card during a Wheel Gambit.
  • Ring of Preparation - Wheel Peek: View the Cards in the Wheel Gambit before it spins.
The following blessing can assist:
  • Deft Eye - Slower Spin: Reduce the speed of a Wheel Gambit.

As in the card gambit, it is indicated by the symbol of a glowing sword. The main problem is that it is extremely rare in the game, remember all the levels where you come across it, so that you can farm it later if anything happens. It is much easier to win in this type of gambit than in shuffling the cards. Of the encounter maps, only the Far North sulfur map is found, which I couldn’t find, perhaps it’s a one-time use. Rumor has it that there are 4 story event cards that have "Big Success" in them. I know only 2 of them. One in the “Tower” test. But I farmed on the penultimate mission "Judgment". This map appears in the second sub-level of the challenge when you reach a bridge and are offered a workaround by boat. If you board a boat and (required!) select a Mage as a companion, you will spin the wheel, where there will be several “Great Success” cards. If you remove all encounter cards where there are battles or other waste of time, then farming will go quite quickly with 2-3 battles per run, but still be prepared for the fact that the trophy will require about 2-3 hours of farming and this is essentially the only and the longest farm in the game, so getting platinum in Hand of fate 2 still brings a lot of fun.

Farmed on the map "Disease". When the corrupted ones try to attack you, select “Try to escape.” The wheel begins. You need to click when the “Great Success” card is strictly at the top, then you will definitely get to it. Did the empress on a mission

You can farm with Field of Fae and Forgotten Dreams at Devil level. There are no mandatory battles at the level except the final one, but it’s not needed either; after completing the necessary maps, we simply restart the level. The level allows you to collect any number of platinum cards, from them you should take Elder's Gift and theGrifter's Companion ring, which will allow you to adjust the result in the right direction. Forgotten Dreams is always found on the last map and allows you to replay previously encountered cards. As a result, you can run through the entire level without a single fight, make two successes and reset the level.
