Hand of Fate 2

The Magician Companion Card is unlocked when you complete all of Malaclypse's Encounter cards. After successfully completing the last one you unlock The Magician which is a Platinum Companion Card replacement for his original Companion Card. This upgrade gives Malaclypse's Shield an Explosive burst that damages enemies when it is hit.

To complete Companion Encounters you must take their Encounter Cards which are marked in the top right corner with their corresponding ribbon and then land on them during a challenge in order to attempt them. Each Companion has a quest chain relating to their specific character development that you assist with and individual encounter cards can vary from skill games, resource requirements or simple conversations to be successful. Overall not super difficult it just takes time and a little luck to complete his quest chain.
