Hali's Ward is an Artifact that is won from the Mapmaker Challenge when the Gold Token is completed. The Gold Token requires:
Hali's Ward has 3 charges and when thrown on a companion your companion leaves a trail of green sparkles that damages enemies. This trail must get the killing blow to count toward the total but you can help weaken the enemies first. I assume a killing blow from a Companion under the buff would also count but cannot confirm that yet. I will update if I notice that while completing the achievement. Hali's Ward can be recharged by Hubie at the campfire which makes it much more consistent to use.
Oddly enough I seem to be able to activate the trail on enemies as well who can then damage each other and this seems to count for kills. It seems like a bug but it is what I have found.
Hubie is useful for this as he can taunt the enemies to attack him but Colbjorn and Ariadne would also probably be good as they are offensive Companions.

I found that the best way to get this done quickly was in The World, the last Challenge of the campaign, where you get to choose all of the equipment you want. Simply aiming and throwing the artefact in the middle of the enemies (And allies) will net you a few kills. Repeating this only took me around 5-10 minutes to get it.
